yeah, sure. I mean Green has already played with/against a ton of folks that have played in the NBA (which is I assume what you meant not CBA). you keep making random remarks that you think imply something that I say ok, let’s do that bet than you back off. Still have the $100 tip jar bet offer from the prior thread you backed off from… here’s the OKState schedule https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/cade-cunningham-1/gamelog/2021/ I promise you this won’t be hard. Name the amount you want to bet. A million$$? Lol. Cause you’re going to lose this bed in a landslide. it’s extremely confusing that you think 15 games against competition that has either played in or is much closer to playing basketball n the NBA is a bad sample size but 27 games against… again… the likes of Oral Robert, Texas Southern, Texas Arlington, Oakland, Marquette, Oregon State, TCU, Iowa, etc is a relevant sample size. just say you don’t like and trust Greens game and dgaf what stats he puts up anywhere….
Yo Calm yo ass down. I am not the one claiming anything as absolute about any of these players you are the one that wants to rank these guys so you can proclaim Green the greatest. Are you really wanting to make a bet that will take 3 to 5 years to settle? Da ****? But you know what go ahead and set it up and and make the stakes since it means so much to you. Can you even name 10 guys who Green played against that actually played meaningful NBA games? The fact is you refuse to see is that I have no reason to hate on Green and have no stake in proclaiming any of these guys will be better than the other like you obviously do, I don't understand why you are taking this so personally. I think Green is a fine prospect and worthy of the 2nd pick I just don't think he is a generational talent nor guaranteed to be better than Mobley or Edwards, why does that bother you so much.
Idk how Edwards was viewed as a prospect since I didn’t pay much attention to him in high school or college he didn’t look that special as a rookie
i dont think Greens the greatest or a generational talent either. I do think things like ts% are very relevant and comment that the ignite sample size sucks but Cade’s OKState sample size doesn’t is moronic. I have utmost confidence you had very little clue who OkState even played this year. I don’t you even watched an OKState game. see that’s my real problem. Your arguments are super illogical. Me: Greens TS% is the difference you: Edward’s will get better cause t was his first year against real nba players” Me: uh… that’s what he was in college too You: well greens sample size is dumb Me: how about Cade? You: well Cade is really good I mean wtf… Cade is good because he’s good and therefor his ts% is good but Greens isn’t that great Iq wise so his ts% is irrelevant. Lol… what? just don’t respond to comments about stats man. as for the bet. You set it up. Any $$ amount you want. % of players Green played against in the g league that pla in the nba higher than % Cade played against in college. like half the 905 who they played in the playoffs are former nba’ers nvm Greens own teammates which are mostly former or future NBArs.
Idk what's the point if this thread. Comparsion of someone we can draft vs another player on the wolves. Like is this a disguised draft green thread?
Nope, just an opportunity to compare the super hyped athletic 2 guard mocked in the top 3 this year to the super hyped athletic 2 guard selected #1 last year. For being a generational talent it seems guys in Green's class and of his archetype come out yearly or every other year. Edwards last year, Hardy next year...
Edwards is more athletic in the mold of Wade while Green is more athletic in the mold of AI. Edwards has more raw explosion and straight line speed and power while Green has quicker feet and more body control combined with his explosive springs. Green also has a better touch around the basket and a better shooting stroke. He's more skilled than Edwards.
As far as prospects go Green blew Edwards out of the water. 1. Hype/Marketing - You got the Green Gang all hyped up. Green was like a mini Zion in terms of marketing. Edwards didnt really have hype cuz he seemed like a chucker in college. Also Green is part Filipino/Asian so there's that. 2. Image - Green had intangibles coming out of his ears, everybody from his coaches to teammates swears about his work ethic and oassion for the game. Edwards started talking lots of random ****, that he's not into bball, he said if he got drafted by NFL he'd quit bball right now, he only started playing cuz he could dunk etc https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.re...o-basketball-alarms-nba-fans-after-draft.html 3. Stats - They put up similar stats but Green was playing vs grown ass men and also had higher TS%. Edwards had raw no but was extremely inefficient and was a massive chucker. If you put Edwards in this draft the earliest he'd go is after Suggs...and prob not even then. Boughknight went 14 and he was a but more efficient than Edwards while also being just as long and athletic. As far a rookies go though, Edwards had a decent year. It wasnt crazy good, but it wasnt horrible either, he played better than Russell at least imo. We'll have to wait to see how Green does but imo he will be a lot more efficient than Edwards was. Green just has better shot selection and isnt a ball hog despite being arguabky the best scorer in his class.
If green learns how to draw fouls he will be star scorer, better than Edwards. how is Edward’s defense?
Interesting read through this thread. A fair few comments from way back when of things Jalen was good at. Were they ever really true? And if so, the more worrying question is, why is he losing these attributes as his NBA career progresses?
Man I said this the year we drafted him.. he has minimal wingspan! Guys with those kind of measurements are usually good shooters. They don't become Kobe Bryants, Jordans, Hardens. They become Ray Allens, Steph Curry, Bane. If he can't play off ball and Shoot, then he isn't going to do much at all. He's not dunking over bigger guys with long arms. His only hope is to move to the 1 and really be an amazing shooter. If he can't then he's just going to be a liability everywhere else. Everyone just kept saying, "welp he can dunk real good and jump real high". So can most players in the NBA. The ones that can't learn to be consistent shooters. Which he is NOT!
Good thinking, head everything from 6'4 is not that small to he is really 6'6 all sorts of measurement daydreaming......
I think even the most ardent Jalen Green supporters are taming their lofty expectations. Though Green is settling in nicely as a complimentary support piece. A solid starter with positive attributes, but nowhere near MVP levels. I think if he continues developing his NBA play, he may be a fringe all-star. But he’s got a long way to go before he gets there.
