I had totally forgotten the All Star game was moved from Atlanta to Denver for political wokeness reasons...all the more reason to be glad the Astros didn't participate, and more reason why I have zero interest in any of it. Let's get back to actual meaningful baseball.
Good for you, except the Astros still participate in MLB and you still care about "meaningful" games. So, no half-stepping. Either be "all in" or "all out". Boycott MLB completely or don't complain about anything.
I can complain about MLB's treatment of the Astros regarding the scandal, and I can complain about MLB's dumb ass decisions regarding the All Star Break, and still care for and cheer for my home town team, wish them to win World Series, and be happy when they do so. Sorry pal, but you don't get to apply your own rules to my fandom. Eat it.
Yeah, if you complain about bad officiating, ring chasing stars, soft tackle rules, preferential treatment, large market bias, extra inning rules, or anything else you just need to stop watching sports. STFU with that nonsense, sports fandom is 75% complaints.
Eat it? I remember that from elementary school. The real mistreatment of the Astros scandal is the media. MLB allowed Houston to keep the championship and there were no player suspensions. You sound passionate about things that don't affect you. The players didn't boycott because of politics nor was politics the intention of this thread, but go ahead and inject your beliefs into it.
MLB Radio guys were saying Manfred is looking at the CBA (current) to see if it gives him the right to suspend Astros who skipped the game and lied about the reasons (or used excuses that wouldn’t allow them to skip). Saying he would love to be able to suspend players now to gain respect from “fans” pissed that he didn’t suspend them for the scandal F Manfred
Personally, I hate both political parties in our nation right now BUT I agree with him that using politics to determine where to host big games is a shitty way to go about their business. Just like you say leave politics out of this thread, it should be left out of those decisions also And again, I don’t have a horse in the political race so don’t give a crap…but democrat baseball fans in Atlanta got screwed by Manfred
During your rush for a rebuttal, you missed the point. The post I responded to was ALREADY mentioning a personal boycott, not mere complaints. So, understand what you're responding to and give a legit response. Or, shut your ass up. Why didn't you respond to the post I actually quoted you? Oh, because you realized my rebuttal had merit you couldn't refute. Step off, Beave
Media mistreated the Astros, but so did MLB. They applied double standards with what the Astros did versus the Red Sox and Yankees, especially the Red Sox. The draft punishments and fines were severe, when other teams either got a light slap or weren't punished at all. The lack of suspensions was a result of the Players' Union, not an MLB decision. I never said the players boycotted because of politics. Where did I say that?? This is a thread about the All Star game and the subject of interest and watchability came up. So my take that I wasn't interested in the game as a result of MLB's relocation decision was on point. Sorry you get all triggered by the sharing of an opinion you don't like. You know this is a forum right?

Sounds like pure speculation on Astros hate radio. Manfred knows how much heat the Astros are getting on the road, and probably would prefer not having to hear the boos from the fans at the all star game. My guess is he'll let the Astros know in private next season that they will not be able to get out of the allstar game as easy.
Part of the MLB shift was them not expecting the extent of the media hit job that commenced... hence their more guarded/calculated response (and significant delay) in releasing the Red Sox report and apparently going through extensive motions to conceal some Yankees letter. Now the question remains, would the media have been so vocal/persistent/constant/presurring against a bigger media market/fan base, and was Houston always going to get this sort of response, regardless of anybody else, because its Houston?
I think the answer is yes. As Gattis said, it didn't go over well with the media that the Astros mowed through Boston, New York, and LA to win their trophy. The fact those same teams employed similar tactics against the Astros in those same series just goes by the wayside. Nowadays anything is done to try to discredit or excuse another team's victory over you. The moment the Red Sox report came out, the first narrative pushed by the media was "but it wasn't as bad as what the Astros did" without even knowing whether it was or wasnt. This grenade was always going to be thrown the Astros way. Add on top of that the media already had a target on the Astros back due to overall dislike of Luhnow, then the Osuna and Taubman incidents.
I not triggered, I'm just challenging your philosophy. You're the one using angry phrases like, "dumb ass decisions" and "eat it". I'm just calmy talking to you.
