EG is worth 18M, injury prone and old.

Prospects are better because they attract fans, may turn out to be stars (P word) and are on a rookie deal.

Kai Jones, Franz Wagner, Kispert and Jalen Johnson are all better assets than EG even to contending teams. The only scenario I think where we move up spots significantly is if the Rox are taking back a garbage contract in exchange.

With that said I like EG I wouldnt mind him staying on the team if he doesnt mind all the losing the Rox need to do for the next couple of years. I believe he is a good influence and he knows yhe tricks of the trade like complaining for calls without getting called for techs.

Well for starters New Orleans didn't have a top 10 pick and selected 13th. Detroit selected Kilian Hayes and the jury is still out on what kind of player he'll be so he's not a bust. The Warriors giving up the 2nd pick for Westbrook is laughable--I don't think Stone would have even made a call to Myers to make that kind of proposal. The Knicks at 8? I guess if they were the old Knicks that was poorly managed.

Bottom line is if there was a lottery pick available for Westbrook at the time when he was traded don't you think Stone could have sniffed that out? Or are we suggesting that Stone didn't do all he could have in terms of trading Westbrook?

I think EG fetching the #10 pick or a lottery pick is unlikely. Maybe if attached 23 and 24 but I wouldn’t do that if I was New Orleans.

New Orleans is supposedly looking to package that pick for veteran help but Eric Gordon makes too much money, is too injury-prone, and is roundly despised in that city (what did he say, anyway? "New Orleans: great to visit once every three years; but I don't like living underwater, so please get me out of here"?)

Maybe we have another offer they'd like. Send Stone with Luca Brasi.

They hate Gordon in NO, so there's no chance that kind of trade is made.

he has negative value, that’s just the reality

no one is dropping out of the lottery and a whole 13 spots back for injury prone, aging, and declining Eric Gordon

I don’t think he is negative value. I’m thinking we get a second round pick and an expiring for him.

People may be overrating his value, but I seriously doubt he has “negative” value.

he’s 32, played in 63 games combined the past 2 years (even the year prior to these last 2 he missed 15 games), has been pretty bad when he’s been on the court, and is owed 38 mil the next 2 years

How does that equate to positive value?

I would love to see the new Orleans fan reaction if this trade actually happened. It would be hilarious.

if we do, that’s a far cry from getting the 10th pick

and if we did get an expiring, we would have to be the team giving up added value, not the other way around

Hopefully we can find Eric a new home where he can have fun.

Gordon, Tate, 23, and 24 to Indiana for Myles Turner and the 13

#2, Detroit's 1st going back to them and Myles Turner to Detroit for #1

    #1 Cunningham
    #13 BPA

Detroit gets Green, a starting center in Turner and gets their pick back.

Indiana unclogs their front court, gets additional scoring help and two late 1st rounders to use on high risk high reward players.

Houston gets Cunningham and BPA at 13 to continue the rebuild.

Yea Indy is more plausible, the NO bad blood has been there for years - EG still gets booed there every game we visit…

anyway, the Indy pick would likely require 23, 24, EG, and another asset potentially. Or for us to take on a bad contract as well. - that’s best case scenario

I get why folks are saying NO won't do that deal...

BUT.... sometimes teams are at a crossroads. And NO is... they don't need a rookie 10th pick.

Now their GM is no slouch, so they might not do that just because he can negotiate better than a dunce... BUT there is a package AROUND that to be made.

NO can't afford to not make the playoffs next year. Crazy to say that, but Ingram and Zion might both adios if they don't start seeing success.
