I think Weaver will take Cade, regardless of whatever chatter/rumor comes out. He knows his team needs talent and lots of it. Worst case scenario he drafts the highest rated prospect. Best case he gets a team like OKC to cough up a ton of picks in return for #1. If anything, he can draft Cade, hope that Houston takes Mobley and work out a deal with Cleveland or Toronto for Green plus additional picks.
I want Cade as bad as Reeko. We are united. It's like starting over with James except this time he's a rookie and won't be stuck as the sixth man. Also he's taller and has a longer wingspan. He's such a perfect prospect, I cannot fathom why you would trade out. He may not end up being the best of the bunch but he definitely has the best chance to be the best.
With the draft, it's never a guarantee and always a gamble. Draft scouts and analysts can talk all out of their ass.....doesn't mean ****.
Detroit leaking to see if OKC will up their offer. Rockets should not be in a rush. Green and Cade are good bets either way.
I believe Detroit wants it's pick back. I also think Weaver wants to retain the 1st pick more than moving down to 2 even if they get their pick. The number 1 pick is the only guarantee of getting the player that any team wants.
I wouldn't give up the future picks that we need to build a great team through the draft. I believe in Silas and Stone to turn the ship around that Fern t*** ****ed up.
Detroit probably wants Green but would rather pay him the #2 pick rookie scale than the #1 pick scale.
Stone is much more entertaining then Morey ever was. I can only imagine what Morey would have almost done…
yup I know people act like everyone and their momma knew Luka was a generational prospect, but just look at the Luka Doncic thread on here…many posts were not the type you’d expect to see being made for a surefire generational prospect he was getting posts like “his longterm upside might not be as high as Ayton or Bagley”…he got some bust posts…he got some “maybe he makes an All-Star game or 2” posts…some “he might not be a superstar or All-Star, but he has a high floor” type posts Mavs knew better tho…maybe the Rockets do too (not saying Cade will definitely be the next Luka, I liken him more to Tatum)
I believe the next rumor that comes out is that Houston is prepared to send the #2 and Detroit's own pick back to them so that Cleveland, Toronto, OKC and other teams say "That's it??? We can beat that!" and, boom, Weaver all of a sudden has better offers to choose from.
Mavs went up from 5 to 3. Rockets can tell the Pistons to **** off and just take Cade when Pistons go for Green?
I do believe this. I don't think Stone will be locked in on Cade unless he wows him in a workout. That's most unlikely to happen. I do believe that the Rockets are interested in him.
All the Rockets have to do is not let any leaks out and it won't matter what the better offers are if Weaver is set on either Green or Mobley (assuming Cade is going 1). Maybe he doesn't believe they are worth the no. 1 pick and wants to swap out with Houston while getting an asset out of it, but all this leaking will not help his cause if Houston keeps their mouth shut.
I don't think Cade will be the next Kwame Brown by any means. I do agree that the Rockets shouldn't give up multiple assets to acquire him.
