Regardless, I’m happy keeping Gordon next season. He is a virtual lock for 17-25ppg and will have increasing trade value as he has the opportunity to prove he’s healthy and sharp. He will be great for the younger players to learn from and we won’t have to expect Khyri Thomas to be a starter.
cool…still incredibly delusional to think that freaking Eric Gordon and the 23rd pick will get u the 10th pick, but people will always try to justify these absurd trade ideas…last year it was Westbrook for the 3rd pick or 8th pick…this year I guess it’s Eric Gordon
My guess is that we actually came close to getting the 3rd or 8th pick for Westbrook. I’m sure that the Pistons would reconsider it.
i would never attach a pick to move eric gordon. if we can't get a deal like this, its better to wait until the trade deadline, when teams are desperate to add a pice to make them a contender or risk losing some of their stars or up coming free agents due to being in no mans land. Its better to just let his contract expire than to add a pick since we're tanking anyways. He is a valuable playoff rotation piece when healthy. Don't make the same mistake that we did with paul. I'd rather let him increase his trade value then sell low. same with wall.
If Stone can get the 10th pick for Eric Gordon and the 23rd pick I'm officially anointing him the best GM in Rockets history because nothing he does after that transaction will measure up.
well that guess is wrong because 3rd or 8th pick for Westbrook was never even an option because his value was nowhere close to that… Westbrook’s value was another player on an albatross contract in John Wall who hadn’t played in almost 2 years and a meh protected 2023 pick that could take years to convey or never convey at all and become 2 2nd round picks. Reconsider it why? They are about to get Cade Cunningham. CF is always severely overrating the value of players on the roster to the point people think Westbrook could’ve actually gotten the 3rd or 8th pick or Eric Gordon and a pick in the 20’s can get u the 10th pick in the draft…
Many teams would reconsider Westbrook for their draft pick in hindsight. I think you’re naïve about how unpredictable the draft has become, how many are busts, how much they get paid to be busts, how many take years to develop all while making more that they should.
I don't think any team picking in the top 10 last year is losing sleep over their decision to not trade for Westbrook.
I think you’re delusional about the true value of players “the draft is unpredictable, players bust, etc”…cool, all that is irrelevant because 32 yo, declining Eric Gordon who has played in 36 and 27 games the past 2 seasons and the 23rd pick isn’t getting u the 10th pick in the draft…u can twist yourself in knots trying to explain how something that absurd is possible all u want, it doesn’t change reality
none of those teams are close to regretting not trading for westbrick. He makes 0 sense for any of those teams
At first I thought you were talking about the 2020 Anthony Edwards draft with all of that hindsight talk but you're talking this year's draft, thinking that there's a team out there wanting Westbrook in exchange for this draft pick? Like the Pistons, with the #1 pick, wanting Westbrook in exchange for their pick?
