#2, KPJ and the Detroit pick for Cade sounds pretty good for Detroit if they are ok with Green instead of Cade.
Cade is the building block we all want so we give to get. Letting Porter stand in the way of getting a franchise player? The pick or Porter not both.
Porter & Green both seem like kids that may never grow up feeding off of each-other and never finding success. NOT Mobley & Francis BUT Francis & Francis. Drafting Cade Cunningham lets Wall have purpose, too (because he’s going nowhere because of his contract). We tank again and pick up our big next year. Core —> Cade / 2022 FRP & Wood (return on his trade)
The best answer is Suggs or Barns and an asset(s) for trading down in the draft. (Hopefully some of our picks back)
This is waaaaay too much. The Detroit pick should be sufficient. That clears up a big problem for them. Some of you still don't grasp what we have in KPjr. He is a potential franchise player. Yes, there's downside risk, but early returns are damn good. OMT - I was thinking about comparables for Cade, and one of these is Walt Williams. While WW never lived up to the potential outside of college....they have a very similar skill set at 6' 8".
Cunningham might have the most boring highlights of any #1 pick in the last decade. p.s. not saying he's not an elite prospect
Absolutely not. There’s a valid argument that KPJ would go #1 in this draft. Take my picks. I’d give up 2, 23, 24, AND the Pistons pick to move up. But KPj is untouchable.
No there's not. Dude got himself kicked off a bad team and has shown flashes, but has been wildly inconsistent and has yet to show he's got legitimate 3-point range. I like KPJ and think there's certainly some potential there, but CF wildly overrates him. With all the flashes he showed last season, basically every advanced stat (and really basic stats and the eye test, too) showed he was a below average player last year. There's still a long way to go with KPJ. I don't want to trade him either, but can we please quit with the homer takes?
Yes there is. Green is the consensus #2, not that much younger than KPJ, and yet KPJ looked way, way better than Green in the G League. KPJ was the scoring leader by a mile. It’s funny how Green homers ignore this point.
But maybe Houston helps bring out the best in KPJ. I’m really glad there wasn’t a spotlight on me at the age of 19.
