I don’t have an issue with wearing masks to clarify, just the shifting positions. Even now most hospitals have their own policy separate from the CDC and have maintained so since last March. Both the WHO and CDC were headless chickens for months that lost a confidence from those on the frontlines. TLDR I don’t disagree with your post at all, just made a general statement
The Delta variant only needs 5-10 seconds of two unmasked unvaccinated people to pass by each other to infect! https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...d-variant-may-be-edging-race-against-vaccines The calls for caution come at a time when research in Australia indicates just how easily the Delta variant can potentially spread. Based on CCTV footage, health officials suspect it has been transmitted in “scarily fleeting” encounters of roughly five to 10 seconds between people walking past each other in an indoor shopping area in Sydney in at least two instances. There were no mask mandates in place in Sydney at the time, and the individuals were unlikely to have been vaccinated given that less than 5% of the Australian population have received both doses. The city and some surrounding areas entered a strict two-week lockdown on Saturday in an effort to curb the spread of the Delta variant.
I going to be wearing my mask until the end of time. I dont care. I never understood whey people want to take them off so bad.. it's just a mask..
Texas is now a part of the nearly 20 states where the infection rate is growing, if UK is a sign for what's to come (cases went from 2k a day to 20k in a month, and growing sharply), it could get pretty bad again
Looks like the Delta variant rate of growth is tripling every 2 weeks not just doubling. It seems to be also controlling the growth of the Brazilian variant here. https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#variant-proportions
https://www.fau.eu/2021/06/21/news/...-blood-cells-triggered-by-covid-19-infection/ Good video explaining this study. It seems this could possibly play a role in long covid and I’d be curious to learn more about what the research finds
At this point, me and my loved ones are all vaccinated. It makes no difference to me if others choose not to get the vax, I am protected. They can assume their own risks of infection, that's their choice. I've moved on from Covid.
Why are all the comments venting about Youtube... on a free Youtube platform... that shared the "Dr. Been" content? God but the internet is weird.
I haven't been following him long, but I believe it's because he had a video censored by Youtube relating to Ivermectin. Youtube has become much heavier handed with censorship and search algo changes even outside of covid. Overall, there is a strange nexus of people who are against/highly skeptical of the covid vaccines and for treatment from generic low cost drugs like Ivermectin, vitamin D, fluoxetine, etc. I think one of the main overarching themes is frustration with our government and global institutions and lack of trust in the data from authorities due to numerous (some very valid and some completely ridiculous) reasons. The frustration and outrage against the "fact checkers" is what is on display in the comments primarily from what I saw. With Ivermectin specifically I haven't kept up with all the data on it, but I believe there was some disappointing results with higher quality data that didn't show the spectacular benefits as in prior studies.
This isn't just about whether you or your family get COVID-19 or not. As we've seen during the pandemic filling up ICU wards with COVID-19 patients is a strain on medical resources that can affect everyone. Also as noted as long as the disease can circulate more among unvaccinated the more chance there is for more variants that can arise. We need to think about this thing like a wildfire. Just because I have fire insurance and cleared the brush from in front of my house as long as the fire is still burning somewhere things can always get bad again.
Let's stop beating around the bush and call it what it is. Their political idols and news sources have told them to be skeptical of vaccines and science and promoted whatever nonsensical cures that people peddle. There's no mystery here as the reasons this is happening and it's not because people are skeptical of government or lack trust in the data. If those same sources told them to get vaccinated instead of taking hydrochloroquine, they'd jump and do it immediately with no different data or government. It's an absurdly dumb problem with an absurdly easy solution.
I understand, but you can't force people to get a vaccine if they don't want it. We all know that. So I can fret and browbeat and shame everyone that chooses not to get it (as that is their right) and complain and tell the world that they are selfish crappy people...or I can go about my business.
I told myself at first I wasn’t going to watch a CNN segment and I ended up doing it because you shared it. It went about as expected. The idiots at the CPAC etc mirror the idiots on CNN promoting the fear mongering ad in my eyes. Why anyone bothers with cable news anymore is beyond me. I was familiar with the information presented and I disagree with your assessment. Not everyone lives their life thru a political and cable news lens. People have different personalities from my experience with this issue. Anyhow I’ll let you think through things on your own and figure out why I disagree with your original points.
