I'm not upset i'm mocking your claim that he would be a #1 pick if he had more tape, that's ludicrous. Why do I care how many followers any of them have? That fact that you know this makes me laugh.
This work ethic narrative is baffling I can show many players in all drafts who have been lauded for their work ethic. I have no idea why Green is supposed to work so much harder than anybody else. Not gonna lie this media blitz just to be the #1 pick gives me pause, seems he likes the hype a bit too much.
And this is supposed to mean what? Are you a scout? Just because the article from some random agreed with your take that somehow makes it legit? What about everybody else who is shooting it down, does that make them petty?
No the pettiness is shooting down all those who have a differing opinion without substance. *That particular podcast they mentioned 6'5" guards were moving Evan Mobley. It's true. The tape / video of his games shows it ---Mobley Mob....no it's not true, can't be, slander!!!! *Mobley was guarding his man near the FT line and made no effort to help his teammate pushing the ball handler into the paint. They said Mobley instead of leaving his man for a FT distance shot if he received the ball, didn't move two feet to help. -----Mobley Mob...no that can't be.....never happened because we don't want it to be known. Slander, blasphemy!!!! * Mobley did a poor job of blocking out on defensive rebounds. -----Mobley Mob......no ever happened....I never saw that on his highlights videos. Therefore it could not have happened. Slander....take it back!!!! * Mobley did a poor job of going after Offensive rebounds. -----Mobley Mob.....Oh no, you can't say that. Even though it's there on video. Slander.....you are not a scout.....don't you dare say that!!!!! *Mobley didn't run down the middle of the court in transition for rim runs. Instead he did what is referred to as trail the fast break and looked to set up at the 3-pt line (never mind he doesn't shoot much 3's). He rarely looked motivated to participate in fast breaks unless it looked like he was going to get the ball and dribble upon onset of fast break. -----Mobley Mob......no way.....my eyes say no......you must be mistaken. He runs every d*** play like his heart is going to burst. Slander!! Dead wrong to everybody!!!! *doesn't leap to block shots. Complement as far as being smart and not pump faked. -----Mobley Mob......he is full of crap!!! Mobley jumps like no one else has ever jumped before. Slander!!!!!!! *Underweight -----Mobley Mob.....oh no.....he has broad shoulders like AD back then (no he doesn't) so therefore he will be AD. No one better say different!!!!! *They mentioned that Evan Mobley has always had a big man playing next to him. I've said that prior. It's a fact. Yet Mobley Mob dispute it. There is nothing to dispute. It's a fact. They said Even will need to have a bigger man play next to him on defense. They aren't wrong. -----Mobley Mob......that's not right!!!! Mobley has the strength of 10 men. He is the greatest. He is going to throw guys like Embiid around like rag dolls!!! And So on, and so on. _______________________________ I don't claim the scouts are wrong about Jalen Green. *Defensive insufficiencies.......Ive said Green can fix them with proper technique instructions. *Underweight.....I hope he can gain 10 pounds which is the average for SG'si n the NBA 190 pounds. *Inconsistent shot.....he will have better shot selection as he develops at the next level. *Rebounds are few......he is a guard. Westbrook rebounds well but few do. *Poor ball handler.......less space as G-league teams have poorer shooters. There will be far greater open lanes n the NBA. __________________________________ I don't have to be a scout to see the obvious. If you choose to wear blinders for your favorite player but place those who challenge Mobley for #2 under a microscope......then that's petty. West Coast Bias favoritism. If Mobley played for Wisconsin then he probably would be scrutinized more. Instead he gets hyped. Go ahead and dog a hole and stick your head in it to avoid the flaws of Mobley......but the flaws will remain if not addressed. Not studying and observing Evan Mobley flaws is not doing your due diligence. Squashing all of those opinions that vary and trying to keep people misinformed is being disingenuous and lacks the objectivity to make the best sound decision towards this matter.
LOL I've not refuted the real flaws in Mobley's game, he has flaws just like EVERY prospect in this draft has flaws. I've refuted the hit pieces that attack Mobley's personality and inability to gain strength including the BS that Mobley is dependent on his brother when Mobley actually played better without his brother. But the high ass and grown ass men argument is ridiculous.
Overall: Jalen Green is a hyper-athletic shooting guard with upside as a 3 level scorer. Starting with finishing, Green’s athleticism, length, outstanding touch, and ability to maneuver around defenders midair make him arguably the best finisher in the draft. As a mid range shooter, Green’s ability to both beat defenders off the first step and his ability to stop on a dime make him a tough guard in the mid-range, with a decent pull-up game. As a 3 point shooter, he needs to improve his ability to shoot over defenses and to become more consistent in general, but his 3 point shooting floor is very high. The area that Green needs to get better at the most in order to unlock his superstar upside is playmaking. His handle is somewhat loose, making him a liability going 1-on-1 against good defenders, especially ones with quick hands, and it could limit his driving ability and his elite athleticism. As a passer, Green can make errant passes, and generally needs to improve reading cuts and how to find his teammates quicker. This is a workable skill, but will be the swing-skill in determining his star upside coming into fruition or not. While Green isn’t much of a defender, his limited defensive abilities won’t hurt his stock as a player, at least in the regular season, due to his offensive firepower. Expected role: All-star caliber shooting guard that can do everything on offense Unplayable if: Jump shooting doesn’t translate to the next level and playmaking skills never develop. Exceeds expectations if: Jump shooting translates at a high level, including gaining the ability to rise up and shoot over defenders with quicker form. As he adds strength, he will become one of the best finishers in the league.
Green is not as good from the corners as Mobley, that is surprising. But shoots at much greater volume. As 3ball shooter, only elite from at top of the arc, below average everywhere else except for right corner. Shot efficiency has been a question mark.
It's noteworthy though, that all we have to go on is a super small sample size. When you're not even talking about 20 games, you can get some misleading information, especially when talking about a streaky shooter. Imagine if KPJ's final 15 games of the season were his ONLY 15 games you had to look at, you might think he was a 38% 3 point shooter
Sure D-rock, they missed one game playing together this season Feb 22 vs Oregon. (Evan M) 11 pts.....5 rebs.....2 Ast's......0 blks.......0 stls........3 PF's......in zone defense. (averages 20/21) 16.4 pts....8.7 rebs....2.4 Ast's....2.9 blks.....0.8 stls.....1.8 PF's Yeah I guess that's good. Please don't tell me you meant Evan Mobley's senior year in HS vs 6'8" highschool kids playing center
from corner 3s… Jalen was 7/15 from NBA three. Mobley was 3/4 from college three. what are you talking about? I know which one I’d prefer.
Mobley or Green? For me it’s Green. I say Green. Green. Green. Green. Green. Green. Green. Green. Green. You ready? 1-2-3….Jalen rocks!
If you read the offending article that I was referencing then you would know what the f'ing topic is. Duckett falsely reasoned that Evan depended on Isaiah for his production in HIGH SCHOOL. Yet Evan's production actually increased from his JR to SR year. Isaiah did not play with Evan in Evan's SR year.
Um… no. also I literally just quoted you… where you said Mobley was a better corner shooter. If you are talking about the mid range corner…. Then lol… go for it. Mobley can be the better mid range corner shooter if you want. Yay! [edit: of course, this isn't true either. Mobley was 7/17 from the mid range baseline, Jalen was 7/16]
random… but I think this is beneath you @J.R. You’ve been a quality poster over the years. what does the video have to do with anything??
