jeez you'd think we'd be wheeling Tate into a retirement home by the way some of you talk about him.

if all you do is surround your young 20-something players with other young 20-something players thats how you become a minnesota/sacramento organization.

As an expert in all things top 5, I agree. Top 5 in this draft should come with an above-average shot at an eventual HoF induction.

Nets were unstoppable before Harden and Kyrie went down.

If only 1 goes down, Nets still likely win it all.

The mocks are pretty crazy outside of the first 7. I've had my eye on Kispert. I've seen him anywhere from 10 to 29.

If this rumor is real, then Pacers target is Tate.

Real question is do Pacers want both 23 + 24 with Tate or just 1 of those late picks.

If Rockets give up Tate + 2 FRP for 13 then they better also get 2 SRP.

This draft is too deep to give up 3 potential starters just to land 1.

I believe you're correct. Let's see who will slip down to 23.

In my totally biased opinion Tate alone is better than the 13 th pick.

Give them the 24th and Washington 's 2023 heavily protected 1st for the 13th pick. If they want Tate, make them give up the 54th ( I believe) and the 60th from this year's draft. Players like Makur, Badji, Pons, Sarr might all go undrafted or in Indiana's range.

I see Tate as a good bench player on a championship team.

Do you see him as more?

Depends on how you think Wall will be.

The Bulls and Knicks are the two landing places that make the most sense for him IMO.

I think the Bulls will be a little desperate and make a move to justify trading away their next couple picks for Vuce and trying to convince Lavine to stay.

The FA pool is pretty dry this year and the thing they need most is a ball handler/initiator and Wall fits that. He's expensive, yes, very much so, but he fits what the team needs IMO.

Unless they trade White for more of a facilitator.

It's only his 1st season, you could be right.

    Or not.

But he is an easy player to root for.

Absolutely, I agree with you. Most know what they are eating before adding condiments. Tate is wonderful player and has value we are not ready for him yet.

His value is now because of his current contract. Cashing in on him only make us a better team. By the time we are ready to compete he will NEED TO GET PAID. He will get his value on his next contract. In many ways Wall is a great player but his contract sucks. Remember Scola the same thing will happen with Tate.

Absolutely see him as more ..... Particularly if he can improve his 3 point percentage to league average or above.

He can do everything a coach asks of a player starting with defending 1-4 and ending with initiating the offense , either getting to the rim and finishing at a very high rate by either beating his man or via pick and roll or getting open looks for others.

If he can improve his 3 point stroke to ~35% he's a starter on most teams ....

I'd take Kispert at 13 without hesitation. A 6'7 forward who shot 44% from three? Absolutely what we need.

I agree he can be a starter on most teams if he can improve his 3 pt % to 35%. Right now he's to inconsistent. I see Tate as a Brown from the Nets type player. Can do a little bit of everything but isn't a starter on a championship team. But still a very valuable bench player. Kind of a poor mans Igudola.

Tate is way better than Brown. Better on offense, better on defense.

To elaborate on a previous post and to chime in on Tate’s upside potential ...

the reason I think Tate still has a lot of upside is because his defensive prowess should continue to tick up . At this point he’s still in his athletic prime and an NBA training staff to work with . While you could say his knowledge was advanced for a Rookie , he was still a rookie .

his offense will be trickier , but it seems like our staff values everyone on the floor being able to Initiate the offense and be aggressive. He’s got good handles and good speed . His passing ability is underrated especially given his penchant for catching the defense off-guard.

That’s all without mentioning his shooting . Which is the ultimate x-factor.

he won’t be as good as Kawhi because Leonard has a definite size advantage. But that’s who he should model his game after. He’s got some decently quick and strong post moves . He could work his game up to being a mismatch , but he’s unselfish and if he can knock down open 3’s the sky is the limit .

the only limit of his age is that he won’t be a superstar for 10 years like someone who was 20 could be if they flashed his ability
