Actually I felt he was very good in their one playoff game. 30 pts....55% (FG%).....5 (rebs)......7 (Ast's)......3 (stls) Did Mobley have better in any one game in the tournament?
Oh he certainly padded his offensive stats while putting forth absolutely no effort whatsoever on defense which is why his team was a -29 with him on the court. He made his numbers look good while his team got destroyed.... because he cares about winning. Mobley's team actually won games in the tournament, but I guess he'd have been more of a winner if he had focused entirely on passing his own stats and trying to get highlights on ESPN to the detriment of his team.
Imagine when NBA scouts get paid lots of money just to watch a single youtube vid for every top player in their board. Best job ever. But seriously, you got swayed right away after just one game? Good thing you didn't watch Mobley's zero field goal game or Suggs 4 point game with 33% FGM or else you'll want us to pick Kuminga for the 2nd overall pick.
Oh ok, that's not bad for amateur level. Let me know when Mobley does that at the semi-pro or pro-level Thank you for your service Bobby G
I think a lot of it is simply not having had the experience of a top ten pick, much less the second pick of the draft, to discuss, debate, argue and fight over since Yao was picked #1 in 2002. The one exception to that being the 8th pick in 2006, Rudy Gay, traded to Memphis for Shane Battier. We’re out of practice. Heck, the last two drafts we didn’t have a pick at all. How weird is that? I find all this lunacy more than a little entertaining. A nice change for this time of year. Years back, the draft and the back and forth over who to pick used to be more of an annual ritual, when we had more skin in the game. Gotta lot of skin this year.
He played vs grown ass men and a tougher comp. There's no question Green would've had better stats in college.
I been comping B Mc for a week it's not to throw shade just showing how athleticism can be over hyped.
Some people had him as the #1 pick in that draft and he was consensus top 3. What does pedigree have to do with anything.
Green played in wide open offense where paint wasn't clogged, that actually ENHANCES his stats. And where were the grown ass men when the Vipers completely beat down on his team's ass???
Im definately not "green gang", but i dont see him ever being "just another guy", even worst case. Green views himself as an alpha. He's not going to accept a stand in the corner and shoot role. If he's on the court, hes going to "get his". It would be like Westbrook agreeing to a 3&D role. Its not in his character. If he plays too poorly while being the alpha, he'll be sitting on soneone's bench. My concern is that he's going to be Jamal Crawford - great individual stats with no effect on W-L record.
Evaluators were comparing him to Ray Allen for Gawd's sake. And once upon a time there was an even more athletic explosive charismatic phenom nick named Baby Jordan, because he was the heir apparent to the GOAT himself. He was the ultimate Skywalker- all offense, all flash, can't miss prospect. Does anyone remember Harold Miner? I'm sure @Clutch still does.
They still do, but not all stats transfer over from college to pros or from semi-pro to the NBA. When these players go up against NBA players you can understand. Shabazz Napier was awesome in college.....dog $#** in the NBA. Different level of competition. Here jiffy lube is talking about Ben McLemore.....a Kansas team with Jeff Withey and Perry Ellis. Whitey was great in college....dog crap in the NBA. Perry Ellis was good in college.....McDonalds All American....barely played in the D-league
Here is Perry Ellis in college Now here is that college player that could barely make it in D-league (was called D-league back then). Not all college players make it to the NBA / G-league But most NBA / G-league players were college players at one time. (exception overseas players)
I think we can agree to your premise. But you aren't really comparing Mobley to Ellis or Withey are you? Because that's just whack. That's like comparing Jalen Green to KJ McDaniels.
Can't wait for both Jalen Green and Mobley to step on the court to settle the debate and entitle the other crowd to ridicule the losing crowd. I know I will willingly eat the crow if I were to be wrong, will the MobleyMob be ready to do so aswell? Doubt it but we will see.
