I think Green will be the number one pick. It's just so rare that you have a player who is 19 years old that combines the following 1. Ridiculous athleticism 2. Ridiculous determination and work ethic 3. Strong outside shooting 4. Good handle Those are the ingredients that come so rare - a Kobe, a Lebron, a KG. I mean Cade doesn't have that and neither does Mobley. Most players in the league don't have those 4 ingredients. Green is going to be picked number 1 unless Detroit is dumb.
I'm confident Stone and the boys will do their due diligence when looking into these guys. We only have what limited information is available to us whereas these guys have all the tape and knowledge that's out there. If Mobley is truly the superior player then we should be hearing his name on draft night. I lean Green, but I'm not going to be the least bit upset if we end up with Evan. And there's always the chance Detroit does something crazy.
If anyone leanin away from JG is wondering how quick of a study and how self critical he is..mind you it’s only half a year and 15 games..the growth is uncanny And then the one posted in the past days (Apologies if posted together in thread)
Also, over the next week or two I’ll try to put together all JG possessions (offense/defense) from game 1-15 to reiterate my take on the dichotomy of progression vs projection in JGs arc
The 5th guy is unknown, it could be Tate, it could be House, hell it could be EGo. Silas is a softie so it all depends on who's voice is loudest in his ear.
There's real noise that the Pistons are interested in Green, but yeah, I'd be shocked if they don't take Cade. Will be surprised if they trade down with the Cavs, too
The Athletic is saying Pistons want Mobley, not Green. Sam Vecenie repeated this in latest podcast. Like I said, dont believe the campaign machines - all smoke and mirrors.
Interesting. Would make sense though considering they already have Killian Hayes. I'm actually curious what the Cavs do. If Cavs get Mobley, they may trade Allen. I also keep seeing Sexton could get traded, so I have no clue
If Rockets draft Green, then CF can hope TWO young players can achieve these things. Neither Porter or Green get to FT line enough nor pull down enough boards. Or play consistent sticky defense. I'd settle for smarter D.
