DA used to be an insider, not sure if he has had the juice for a long time now. All his unnamed sources (and there a lot in this article) all sound like the same guy. They all sound like DA!!! But the 1 thing that struck me the most was that DA credits Sam Vecenie as the most notable draft guru in the business. Guess how Sam Vecenie ranked the top 5 prospects? I'm sure many will be very surprised.
I've said this from day 1. Green needs to get better at PnR and defense, especially switches and rotations.
Wait, I thought Harden was lazy and clinically obese? Why would Feigen use his work ethic as a trait that the Rockets are looking for?
Says he has green ranked higher than Anthony Edwards. Also refers to him as one of the best scoring prospects he’s evaluated in the last 8 years.
Looks like highlights of Chase Budinger vs. Terrence Jones were thrown in there as well. On a serious note, it does look like Ant and Jalen are about the same height, if you want to make that comparison from a body to body stand point.
Vecenie also ranked Green 4th best player in this draft. AS: Let’s talk range. Where will he go in this draft? Everyone talks about this being a 5, maybe 6-player draft. Where is he within that group? SV: I think it more as a 4-person draft. Two players in Barnes & Kuminga I like more than the rest of the draft but I have 4 guys in my first tier of prospects and Jalen Green is one of those guys. I personally have him at number four on my board.
Vecenie does love him some Green, but Green is 4th on his board for a reason. https://bbs.clutchfans.net/threads/jalen-green-should-be-the-pick.311953/page-65
This was too funny to not post. my endorsement of this tweet does not in anyway represent my personal views.
I'm no longer saying much on the subject because I feel it's Jalen Green as well, if the Rockets pick at #2. Moving to #1 is a means of maybe getting the Pistons #37 and/or #42 pick. Give up possibly future picks to pull it off. As an option.....flipping picks.
I have not read anything saying he is a better athlete and you are the one claiming everybody says he is so please provide these links because I have not seen that. Being faster is not being a better athlete we know Edwards is much stronger and I am not saying that makes him better. Faster is not a great basketball trait anyway, quickness is more important.
Yeah I think I see Silas falling in love with this kid and his potential. I also see Stone loving the ideas of setting up the backcourt for the next 10 years (possibly). And still having Wood and just really building around KPJ/Green/Wood while would could be traded later. The big factor as well is I could definitely see TF and mostly his son as well loving the idea of a potentially high scoring backcourt. Exciting sells tickets.
All of Green's scouting points to his incredible athleticism. Edwards draft scouting noted his good athleticism with great size... but it doesn't matter.... Jalen Green is a better athlete than Anthony Edwards. It doesn't matter much one way or the other as they both have great athleticism. If you think he's not a better athlete, go for it, lol. There's nobody on earth questioning Green's athletic ability or even not noting how ridiculously crazy good it is. I'm just not going to respond to your posts anymore - they focus on the most inane things. Arguing about Green's athleticism is like arguing about the fact hat he has lots of positive things written about them - stupid.
It's tough because the most valuable position in the NBA today is a wing and Cade can play that role as a point forward and still gives you a playmaker. You would hope to get that foundational piece this high in the draft but alas this draft has more points and bigs at the top and we actually have a potentially decent PG in KPJ and big with Wood. If we had Cade - it would give us a LOT more positional flexibility but if Detroit takes him, we are kind of stuck between Green(potentially best backcourt in the NBA) or Mobley(potentially best frontcourt in the NBA). Given that bigs are generally less valuable in the modern NBA, I would pick Green if Cade isn't there. He seems like he will project to be good at least and potentially great if his work ethic is legit and frankly on a team of young guys if that work ethic can rub off, then it's over. I don't see Suggs as being in the conversation - great kid, but the shot is too shaky considering Green is there and although Suggs is a better passer - he would have to be turning guys like KPJ or Wood into legit all stars with his playmaking alone to make that pick worth it.
