Why? Cade only wanted to work out for one team. What if he bombed that workout? The rest of the league is supposed to go on "potential" from his college and high school highlights? That dude should be burning up workouts for the top 3 or 4 teams. Do a public workout and invite the whole NBA and solidify your position if he's that good and confident. Reality is he doesn't want to do anything that will affect his MONEY. Big dropoff from 1st pick $$$ to everything after, but if you were that good to begin with making money in basketball shouldn't even be that big of a press right now.

I dont think Cade is a lock and never viewed him as the 'consensus' myself so Stone and his scouts could easily just trade out of 2 and let someone else take this "generational" talent and then look like a damn genius when he picks up assets to drop a slot and ends up with a similar talent.

In a consensus year I would agree. Next year? Most definitely. This year? Debatable.

tough pill to swallow if you are Detroit. I wouldnt want to fall out of the top 4 in this draft even if you're getting SGA back. If I were them I'd target CLE in a trade down. Toronto could be a dark horse to move up too.

We have the second pick in a loaded draft. Stone should just sit pat unless someone gets anxious and makes him an insane offer.

Agreed. SGA is legit but falling that far down without any additional picks coming back is not ideal. Now if Presti coughs up an unprotected future 1st with SGA and the #6........

Piston's #1 for Rockets #2 plus future 2nd rounder. Wouldn't be willing to give too much to move 1 spot. Green will be your top scorer, Cade will be next best big man to play in the league.

I feel like I am on crazy pills.

If I were Detroit, I'd take that deal in an instant.

SGA is a proven stud. He averaged 23.7/4.7/5.9 on 51% fg and 42% 3pter and he's only 22 yo. I think it's less than 50% chance that Green/Mobley/Cunningham become a better player than SGA. Any of them could become the next Wiggins, Thabeet, Bagley, Fultz, or Jabari Parker.

Looking at the last 10 years of top 3 picks, out of those 30 picks, I'd only these players over SGA (given their prime/ignoring current injury), Wall, Kyrie, AD, Beal (debatable imo), Embid, KAT, Jaylen Brown, Ingram (maybe), Tatum, Luka, Ayton (maybe), and Zion. That's 10-12 players in 30 picks.

I don't think Cade/Green/Mobley are on the level of a sure thing like LeBron, Zion, or Duncan where you know that the player will very likely to be an all-NBA level player one day.

I take SGA any day of the week. THen you also get then 6th pick!

I would love to have #2, and #3 pick. May be a bit much to throw in Woods, since he's already a solid player. Not sure if i'd give up on Woods just yet. Maybe if we can somehow throw in Wall, I'd be down.

Wood production plus his contract can get us a huge return for some team trying to compete.

He’s not worth just Mobley alone especially when we have to throw in picks.
I’d do Wood for for the number 3 but not Wood and two extra draft picks

Would prefer to stay at #2. But idk, draft day trades are always exciting lol.

I'm gonna be petty and say as long as Toronto or OKC aren't involved. Tired of hearing their fans talk about how great their player development is, as if they're the only teams capable of drafting and building talent. Especially the OKC fans saying they deserved our pick this year. OKC has like 4 new rookies every year, and Toronto is still coasting off Van Vleet, OG, and Siakam. It wasn't that long ago they drafted the legendary Lucas Nogueira and Bruno Caboclo.

The 6th pick in this draft is a steep dropoff from the top 3 or 4.

Scottie Barnes might be a passing/defensive stud at the forward spot, but if he's taken at 5, you see.....and Kuminga isn't measuring up to all that.

There are some overlooked talented players outside of the Cunningham-Mobley-Green-Suggs barbershop quartet. Most teams tend for the bases-loaded grand slam homerun, though, even if the downside is the sky-high strikeout numbers (Babe Ruth) and three left stranded.

I thought this was a slam dunk?

When it's all said and done, Scottie Barnes and Keon Johnson are the 2 truly rare athletic freak prospects (combined with killer mindset) and may end up the most impactful picks in this very deep and talented draft.

It would require both guys to improve very dramatically at shooting, but shooting is the one skill that you can absolutely improve on in the NBA.

Kai Jones, Alperun Sengun, Jalen Johnson, Garuba, Thor, Jackson all have warts but incredible upside as well.

But my dark horses are Vrenz Bleijenbergh, Greg Brown, Scottie Lewis, Bones Hyland, Joe Wisekamp and Herb Jones.
