Anyone seen it? It’s two seasons. It’s quite dark, but funny. And very odd. Warning, someone does get shoved in front of a mail truck in the first couple minutes lol A depressed intelligence agent on an assignment to stop Iran from getting nuclear weapons capability by posing as an industrial process engineer just can’t catch a break. The mission, run by his ex-congressman father with help of his kind-of-stupid congressman brother, is barely on track. Oh, and he has a penchant for writing extremely descriptive folk songs about his transgressions.
One of my favorite Amazon series of all time. Very quirky, people might not like it at all. But when Red from That 70s show starts talking about industrial equipment, it's must-see TV.
"F***...I forgot to kill Birdbath." it's little lines like this that just have me rolling or the stuff with Steven, like changing his name on his white board. Steven: "Hi, I'm Eugene." Therapist: "No, you're not. That's a real step back, Steven. That was really embarrassing for you."
I’ve been meaning to watch this for a while but hesitant since it was cancelled and been burned by cliffhangers. Does it end in a satisfying enough way? Michael Dorman is really good in the Apple show For All Mankind and has made me want to try this even more.
Awesome show.....sucks it had to get canceled. https://deadline.com/2019/07/patriot-canceled-season-3-amazon-series-tca-1202655489/
Been watching this show and it's hilarious. Very dead pan situational type comedy. I'm only on season 1 but close to the end. Couldn't stop cracking up at the 3 minute rock-paper-scissors duel.
Never got to Season 2, but not because the show was bad, it just got lost in the streaming shuffle. I thought S1 was great, need to just start over and binge both of them. Sucks it got cancelled.
I don't know if many people caught this, but the overt rip off of the Simon & Garfunkel "Sound of Silence" album cover always made me laugh.
I have told so many people to watch this show and I just don’t think I do it justice when I describe it because NOBODY ever follows through to watch. “a depressed covert operative and a talent for folk music writing about his spy activities has to stop Iran from acquiring nukes by pretending to be a piping engineer” just doesn’t sound all that funny. there’s one clip where John Lock (whatever his really name is) explains to his superiors that his son has is a talented musician but a little too honest in his songs. I love that scene.
I didn’t even realize I started this thread and now I’m laughing at my own posts quoting the show. I see a binge session in the near future.
Seems like the consensus is that everybody started it, enjoyed it, then never finished it. I fall into the same mold. Probably why it got cancelled. Way to go guys. We did it.
