I have no qualms with anything Mobley posted either. I only mentioned it previously as people are trying to create a false narrative about Green. Both of these kids are off the charts as far as character and intelligence are concerned. That's what makes picking between the two all the more difficult.
I hate it too but it's the reality. Everyone does it this way and it's the new norm. Players that don't care about brand are rare nowadays.
I could see Mobley being one of those rare players. While green on the other hand already with a show deal with adidas just screams like he wants all the glitz and glamour but if he produces then I see no problem with it.
Why are you so invested in Green? I don't understand in being invested in a particular player, especially when most 1st rounders are a disappointment.
This. It's amazing how a lot of people are falling for the propaganda as if stuff like this is not said about players every year.
Again, this is just making **** up. Get some facts and come back with those claims. S T O P M A K I N G S H I T U P that is for both Green and Mobley.
How many articles have came out about green and how he wants to be compared to Kobe and about how he feels he’s the best player in the draft and what not?? I mean it’s good work buy his agent or whatever but how many articles have came out about Mobley saying things like this?? That’s why I feel the way I do I’m saying it’s fact or anything it’s just my OPINION. It just seems to me Green is all about the hype the “look” so to speak…he’s also came out saying how him playing in the G-league gives him the advantage over other players. Mobley on the other hand I haven’t heard a peak from him. Also I’m not saying it that it’s a knock on green about his attention seeking or confidence or whatever. I just like the idea that Mobley as of right now at this very moment just seems more of a all work no play strictly business demeanor.
I mean, I have watched 2 minutes highlight reels of all three possibilities, so obviously I am the most qualified person here to comment. I am leaning Green. It doesn't matter if Mobley ends up being better, we just have to get an impact guy who can be good for a long time. We absolutely cannot draft a bust, I think Mobley has more bust potential. We are looking to be terrible in the next two years and those two drafts look to be really stacked with bigs, and pretty dry on guards. Lock in your long term guards now, with Green and KPJ, and then look at bigs going forward. Paolo Banchero Chet Holmgren Adrian Griffin Jabari Smith Victor Wembanyama Jalen Duran Adem Bona -Draft Green to lock in your backcourt -Nab two of the above in 22 and 23, -Use the boat load of cap space we have when Wall /Gordon contracts expire in 24 to fill out the roster Then hopefully we are set for the next ten years. The Brooklyn picks have a chance to become super valuable assets right when we are ascending which will put us an outstanding position to continually improve, as opportunities arise. This is how you build a contender. Just don't let Tilman **** it up.
but …. regarding Green it’s not just his coaches. It’s EVERYONE he’s been in contact with. From the multiple coaches on the multiple teams he’s been on to teammates, NBA vets, insiders, etc. Second, people aren’t quite saying that about Mobley for example. We are instead getting “his passion is misunderstood” and he has an “economy of motion” on the court. This may be all a lot of nothing… but it’s insane to me that if we’re questioning attitude that we’re questioning the guy that has had too much good things said about him because “of course, who won’t say that?!?!” vs. the option where there are potentially actual question marks. see above. I’m VERY confused about this new narrative. Green looks like he enjoys life. OMG!!! How this has turned into all play/all hype and no work is beyond me and crazy. I’ve seen Green putting in lots of work. And he seems like he wants to have fun and be the best. I’ve seen very little of Mobley putting in the work. There’s highlights of Green working out with Steph and Luka. Where are the highlights of Mobley working out with AD and Embiid? ^ that sounds dumb… because maybe Mobley does put in the work. But at the end of the day… we know way less and have no idea. Whereas Green is all work and all play… Mobley is who the f knows???
That's hyperbole you have no idea how everyone feels about him, This is prime example of the propaganda. What new narrative? I am just talking about people qouting puff pieces as if they are gospel and they know what's in the kids head. I have no idea what working out with steph and Luka is supposed to prove and really have no idea why you are asking were are the highlites of Mobley working out with AD and Embid do those guys work out a lot with bigs? Do you usually see bigs working out together, talk about a new narrative. You are actually are drawing conclusions about work ethic from workout clips and using the lack of those clips to judge Mobley. LOL. You got it bad my man, thanks for for fully illustrating my point. The answer to question who the **** knows are the scouts and decision makers and if you actually want find out there is plenty of info about his work habits.
the funny part is I’m not drawing conclusions. I’m pointing out what’s been said. regarding Green… you got me!! EVERYBODY is hyperbole. I don’t know how his random teammate from 2 yrs ago or how jigglyfly’s dad feels about him. I just now what every article and interview and discussion about him from people with first hand knowledge have said. the new narrative is that because so much good is being said about him… it must be bad. That’s what you’ve, and others, have implied about him… made even more comical because there’s a subtle connection to the fact that he likes to dunk and is athletic and so even more so it must mean he’s a kid with a big ego. it’s like trying to get a read on whether a dude is a good guy or not, because he seems really energetic and active and confident, then asking a bunch of people with first hand knowledge heir thoughts, having them all come back saying yeah this is a good dude, and concluding this much all be a bunch of bs, lol. and again… then made even more more comical (lol) by trying to get a read on a mother guy, who you can’t tell what type of dude he is but maybe he’s a bit of a non-social introvert, and it’s hard to find much if any first hand knowledge of him, and what you do find is folks saying “don’t misunderstand him” … and concluding “this guy is a REALLY GREAT DUDE!!!” ^ this is an analogy… it’s not perfect. guy number 2 may be a super great dude (passionate, hard-working, leadership attitude Basketball player)… but we have limited evidence to support that one way or the other. Guy number 1 may be all fluff and no substance (overrated, overhyped, not hard working basketball player)… but we only have evidence so far to the contrary of that.
It's also bias confirmation, this is nothing knew these same types of articles are written about guys in the draft every year yet you act like Green is the exception and it sets him apart. I have no idea what you are trying to say in the analogy except that you really want to believe all of this stuff about Green and hey more power to you but I don't understand why. He is a 19 year old kid, what happens when he gets money and or starts having people challenge him that are as gifted. I don't know bu8t I sure as **** know these articles don't give you any better incite.
The scouts dont really know either. It's all just an educated guess. I would be very happy with Green at 2 and Isiah Mobley at 23 though.
