And then Green walked on water, healed the lepers, and fed 5000 people with four loaves of bread and five catfish.

Hopefully he's The Goods if we pick him.

No, because serious front office personnel know what a story planted by Jalen Green's agent looks like. The Athletic will run pieces like this because it will give them future access to Green for stories and interviews. This is the way the media works now.

Okay Green is all I want, would really be a breath of fresh air to have a true SG again with the hunger. The discussion is over!

[IMG] That article has got me hyped [IMG]
Green and Porter are going to have to have a sit down w/ John Wallet.

I've thought a lot about it, and after mulling it over I think the Rox should probably pick Green over Mobley, this is crazy to me cuz I thought Mobley was a no brainer when we got the lotto.

The main reason is mainly intangibles. I actually like both talent wise and being a unicorn Mobley's talent is def more unique and impactful than Green if he pans out, but the Rockets I feel like need that fire/alpha mentality in their star player.

The Rox are a young team, and our best piece is KPJ who is highly impressionable. The dude got caught with a scrub in a club so you know, he is very susceptible right now to influence.

We need to match him with Green who has lots of drive and ambition so he will influence KPJ positively, stoke that hunger and drive for success that Kobe stoked in Lebron and Wade during their Olympic run. Mobley is a lot more reserved and laid back and while I have no issue with that, with a troubled kid like KPJ and some lunchpail kids like KMart Jr and Tate we need an Alpha more than a Beta personality.

Wall is the alpha on the Rockets.

He will influence both Porter and Green.

Wall would not influence Mobley as much due to his stoicism, high character and intelligence.

Highly unlikely Mobley will be caught in clubs or flashes gang signs.

I wouldn't be so sure of that. Green's own high character and intelligence seem to be every bit on par with that of Mobleys. Both of these guys are aces in that regard.

We are at the perfect pick. We either get Cade or green

Green appears to be a very talented and hard working kid.

But not seeing evidence of high IQ, especially compared to Mobley.

And while not a troubled kid, he appears to have a look at me personality.

This is supported by his constant barrage of heavy self promotion on social media.

Constant barrage? Mobley has more instagram posts than he does. I find it confusing how Green;s intelligence is constantly coming into question.

i think @i3artow i3aller brought it up already, but there's a picture of Mobley sitting on an AMG and being like "hey, look at my AMG" so this is not an argument to me.

I think both of them are doing perfectly fine. Players need to build brands. The better the brand of a player the more he is recognized as a star. Boring players without personality take much longer to get into peoples' "Top10 lists". This directly translates to money and as we all know, if there's one thing nobody can get enough of, it's money.

    Brand is everything.

I do agree with that. Mobley is smart, he needs to play like a 7 footer every night. Intimidation is huge for success. He needs to bulk up. I want to see him grabbing more rebounds and attacking the basket consistently.

I'm not really concerned about his jumper. He is a face up player. That's okay, but he needs to play harder nearer the basket.

That will determine whether he will be a star or a very good role player. It's up to Stone to decide who is most likely to be a big success.

I only know that if Green doesn't pan out, it wouldn't be as much of a disappointment as selecting a big.

There always would be a voice telling you not to go with a big. (later injury stories)

How would you defend your boy against the 'he is not bball intelligent' claims?

I would argue we shouldn’t draft a player based on the fact that he could possibly have some kind of effect on KPJ.

I absolutely hate this line of thinking and this line of thinking is what's wrong with the NBA today and a big reason ratings have fallen off a cliff.

Winning should be everything, not becoming a brand.

I don't have a problem with the kid showing off his cars. He's a kid and he's about to get paid. The quote was "I'm outside in an AMG" which are the lyrics in a song, btw. He seems down-to-earth in his interviews. I hope he turns into Shaq and shows off all his cars, wins rings, and dominates. Well, if he's on the Rockets, that is.
