I feel like even the slightest bit of research would have shown a dismal long term prognosis with regards to the Angels success/odds of winning a championship. Ohtani isn’t dumb. Maybe his priorities aren’t to win a championship right now. No question he’s a generational talent. But whatever spell the Angels are using to waste away Trouts prime is also working on Ohtani

    Bagwell “played”.

If either spent a portion of their career in LA, they’d also be getting the Ohtani treatment.

Yankees To Acquire Joey Gallo (Reports) – Please God, No, No, No

According to reports from nj.com and MLB Rumors, we can “expect to hear more and more about Rangers outfielder Joey Gallo and right-hander Kyle Gibson, especially when it comes to Yankees general manager Brian Cashman.

But Gibson is 33 and according to Spotrac, he is making $10 million this season and is under contract for $7 million in 2022, after which he will become a free agent.

Who needs that? – and who needs Joey Gallo’s 200+ strikeouts in a lineup that doesn’t hit with men on base or with runners in scoring position.

I say, yes, yes, yes! Just what the Yankees need. LOL. (agree with writer).

By all means, the Yankees are free to “chase it”. Their same GM saw exactly what happened with that strategy post 2009. Wasn’t till they actually became real sellers that they had a chance to contend again.

Even with reinforcements this year, their team is not clearly better than 3 other teams in their own division… let alone the rest of the AL.

Gallo and/or Gibson would be a great addition to any team

Also, Fox just spent 2 minutes showing Ohtani highlights and stats in the 3rd inning of the Boston-Oakland game.

I guess you could make a case for Framber, but he just didn't pitch enough.

Can't make a case for Yordan over Nelson Cruz, and not much of one for him over JD Martinez.

    Who am I missing?

Altuve made it. Yuli did not. We've been talking about Yuli.

I thought Yuli was a lock with the other 4. Still nice representation.

The reserves end up playing just as much, and end up getting more AB's if the offense gets going. Pressly is probably going to be the true closer for the AL. Any Astros fan saying they expected him to be this dominant would be lying. He's at least to where he was pre 2019 injury (where he also made the all start team), and he's not even flinching.

If only Taylor Jones had made that foul pop up catch on Tatis, Jr, his numbers would be even more ridiculous (not to mention perfect in save situations).

What I should have said is that those two should have been the top vote getters for their positions (IMO). Bettin' the scandal **** cost Altuve.

Seems like Canada stuffed the ballot box quite well for the Jays.

Ohtani has more HRs (31) than singles (25).

He's in-line to have the greatest season ever.

    - first player to make All-Star at two positions
    - first player with 30 HRs and 10 appearances (which may finish 60+ HRs and 20 appearances (all starts)
    - 1.000 OPS and leads the league in HRs, triples, SLUG% and IBBs

Not sure the record for SBs by a DH but he currently has 12 vs 3 CS

He doesn’t even have the highest WAR this year by any of the core sites. He certainly is not in line to have the best year ever. Most unique year? That I’ll buy.
