the numbers will even out in the sense the As have had a weaker schedule, have played (and won) more games at home, have not performed well against better competition and have a lower run differential. So, yes, it will even out … but not in the way you are predicting. Could they get lucky all year? Of course. But I put the odds of the Astros finishing first in the AL higher than the odds of the Astros finishing second in the West, so that’s where I’m focused.
