I was wondering what Dumpling Thick thought about these rules.

Huge-ass lines seems to be a Third Ward thing. There's always a huge ass lines outside Breakfast Klub, too.

I kind of wonder if the lines, in spite of the inconvenience, are actually a feature to make people feel special for eating there, or something.

I’d rather drop someone a 50 or 100 to get in right away. No meal is worth standing in line for.

And it is also within the borders of the 3rd ward.

Huge ass lines are everywhere. The Boiling Crab in Dallas, Franklin in Austin, etc. People start lining up for these places because they hear it's good. If it really is good, the lines just keep coming for months/years. There was a donut shop near me that opened up and people started raving about it. It was a damn donut shop.... people were lining up at 5am to beat the rush. At midnight on weekends there was at least a 1 hour wait for ... donuts. After a few weeks, the novelty wore off and now nobody really thinks much of the place. lol. Same thing with In N Out burgers. When they opened up it was insanity because all the Californicators thought Jesus was working the registers there. Nowadays nobody has any problems getting in.

Places like Franklin and the Boiling Crab are different -- they've had lines for years. People start lining up hours before they open. In these cases, it's because the food is good. I've never eaten at Turkey Leg Hut, so I can't comment. I'll have to make sure I rent a tux to adhere to the dress code, though. :D

lines are a feature at pretentious night clubs where there's more people outside than inside to create the illusion of exclusivity. lines at a restaurant (at least the breakfast klub) are because they are at max capacity and they can't clear out quick enough to keep up with the amount of people who want to eat there.

20 minute expected wait and I am out. Hate when they say 15 and it takes 22.

    Listen to this man.

Line to get into a place to buy alcohol and dance is dumb as hell

Line for good food, that's a different story, within reason.

They key at Breakfast Klub back in the day was to just go there very early Sunday before the church crowd showed up. 15 minute wait, food was worth it.

I've never been, the long lines made me say nope. My dad, wife and I all got food poisoning from their food truck on Veterans last year so I haven't been in a rush to try the one on Almeda.

Also this comment made me LOL

No meal is worth dropping somebody 50 or 100 or lines that long IMO.

There’s a well known bbq place in Houston that I’ve heard initially paid people to stand in line to increase hype. Worked out well for him.

Quality over quantity. I value my time. I cut every one I encounter, especially when @Roscoe Arbuckle is in one.

I believe in quality over quantity I just think you can get quality in enough places to not do those things.
