Do we go with Cunningham or is it as much of a coinflip with him and Mobley/Suggs/others as it was with Green?
Obvious play would be to draft Cunningham then entertain swap offers with 80% intent on keeping if they're sold on Mobley, Suggs or dark horse. Or they could troll CF and draft Darko Milicic.
take Cade and pop bottles this was a 6’8 guy with a 7’1 wingspan doing this…his basic and advanced numbers are practically identical to Tatum’s 1 year in college
Cade starts his career as a three setting up the offense until Wall’s time comes to an end. Woods/ Rookie Tate /Martin Cade/Rookie Gordon/ Porter Wall\ Thomas/ Brooks
Take Cade, and I could see that happening. Either way, Cade or Green would get us a huge piece to build around with potential to be our "guy." Mobley and Suggs I think are far more likely to be the sidekick to the guy than the guy, so we'd have to bank on being bad again enough next year to get to draft a proper top guy for the team.
How I hope Detroit takes Green. Take him, Motor City! Pretty please? Our organization would be stunned and delighted, and justifiably so, in my opinion. Even Fertitta would be dancing around in disbelief. We'd have a @Clutch - @BimaThug podcast to listen in record time. Bring it on!
with Detroits past poor draft record... they will go with the consensus and not go off script... imo...
Interesting and something some of y'all who are dead set on Cade being the best player of this class should consider: In the last 18 years the #1 overall pick has been the best player out of his class only 2 times. One of them is Lebron James and the other one is (arguably) Zion (some might prefer Ja Morant) Just something to consider.
Thread has already been made. https://bbs.clutchfans.net/threads/...t-pass-on-cade-and-take-jalen-green-1.311966/ If Detroit did take Green at #1, it should definitely be Cade for the Rockets at #2. A lengthy, versatile player, who can play-make, shoot, and defend. Easy choice if Green goes to Pistons. I would love the aspect of having multiple basketball handlers on the court at the same time.
... then people will be talking for years how Detroit could have won multiple championships had they picked Cunningham.
I think so too. A new FO might not want to take that big of a risk even if they feel like Green or Mobley is better...if they pick someone else than Cade and Cade does well they are immediately on the hot seat...but if Cade doesn't then they can always fall back on the excuse that any team was going to pick Cade. Either way, he fits a need. I know they have Hayes and the fans have high hopes for him still but Cade can still just be a point forward that shares PG duties ala Lebron. He can spot up and shoot too. Super versatile. If Det does get risky though we'd benefit.
We didn't FadeforCade to then take Evan Mobley. Fade for Mobley doesn't even rhyme ________________________________________ Bringing in Cade (#2) then Garuba/Thor/Kai Jones/ Trey Murphy / Prkacin (one of @ #23) then Bassey/T Mann/Hyland/J Butler/McBride/Scottie Lewis (one of @ #24) Roster (would look like) PG) Porter jr..............Wall / (?Butler / McBride?) / Khyri Thomas SG) Eric Gordon.......(?Hyland/Scottie Lewis, Tre Mann?) / ?Armoni brooks? SF) Cade................... Kenyon M Jr / Tate PF) Wood..................(?Garuba / Kai Jones / Thor / Trey Murphy / Prkacin?) / Cade-KMjr-Tate C) (?Olynyk / Bassey / free agent?).......Wood Foundation of Porter / Cade / Wood gets good playing time with others also transitioning into the NBA. That's a 48 win team if all can stay healthy (82 game season) Depending on trade deadline deal.....maybe fighting for play-in 10 thru 8th seed.
