Since you mentioned Jones... Not sure if this was covered in the Sunday Detroit game thread... but this conversation took place between Bagwell and Kalas. In the extra inning game when the player before Castro walked, they were talking about pinch hitting for Castro. Bagwell was in favor of using Brantley. Kalas cited the right handed hitters: Kalas - what about Jones? Bagwell - nope Kalas - Garcia? Bagwell - nope Refreshing comments from Bagwell.
Right.... but announcers tend not to. Blum would have probably said no by praising Brantley rather than a matter of fact 'nope'. The fact that Bagwell is a part timer gives him more leeway.
Paternity leave for multiple games seems pretty lame to me. One game? Ok fine but missing a series when we are down starters already is pretty weak.
