That is correct because that is precisely what I wanted to imply. In my opinion, currently, he is likely a rim-runner/roll-man. The accusation is that I said that scouts say he is a rim-runner only, which I most certainly did not.
Blatantly false. Camby was extremely versatile and was used to defend various positions, even locking up Kerry Kittles in flashes. He was also fairly unicorn-y in college and in his early NBA days, getting out in the open floor as much as they would allow bigs to do such a thing in those days. There was also hope that he could develop his jump shot after nailing 70% from the line in college, etc.
This is a flat out lie, LOL. He was also not unicorny he seldom did anything on the perimeter offensively or defensively. He came out in 96 nobody was projecting big men to develop jump shots and from your own link it said he had no handle. Nobody in the NBA at that time had bigs guarding guys on the perimeter. He could always run better than other bigs but that has jack squat to do with being a unicorn.
John Calipari on Marcus Camby before he was drafted. “In my opinion, he will define a position in the NBA, because he really has none,” Calipari said. “But he will play. He’s a 7-footer with guard skills.” Mic drop...
Isiah Thomas on Marcus Camby: "He had guard skills, he could rebound the basketball and he was also a shot-blocker." "He was that rarest of jewels, the late-growth player, the center with wingspan and guard skills. There was an elegance to his game. He was a shot-blocking menace, a great passer for a center, a player with no selfishness on the court. In modern hoop parlance, he could "score the ball," but he was a team guy through and through." "Camby ran the court like a gazelle and blocked shots with fury. On a Nuggets team that played up-tempo before up-tempo was all the rage in the NBA, he was a perfect big man for coach George Karl’s system. He could fill the lane on fast breaks like a guard, yet dunk over any defender. He could guard his man on the opposite side of the court yet still have the speed and lateral quickness to come over and help alter a shot when needed." Does this read a bit like our homeboy Mobley coming out of the draft? I am not saying that Camby turned out to be all of these things. My point is that his hype level coming out of college had scouts saying many of the same things that we are hearing from Mobley-ites. I contend that Mobley is closer to Marcus Camby than he is to any of the aforementioned HOF-ers mentioned previously. Is that a crazy opinion? Watching Mobley's lack of offensive creativity, I think not.

Another states that KG averaged over 7 assist a game in HS. Maybe "point forward" is the more appropriate term but KG did have the ball a lot in his hands when he played for Mauldin High. Even in this short clip you can see that even in HS KG had a refined post game. Next you said AD didn't have moves coming out of college. In the video below are clips of AD's HS days. If Mobley moved half as good as AD did in HS I would be all for drafting him. AD is putting the ball on the floor, shooting threes, leading the fast break, crossing people over.
So you were wrong that KG was a point guard in HS at least we got that out of the way. There is a difference in being able to pass out of double teams to get assist than running an offense, yes KG was a great passer and playmaker. I can show you Mobley had post moves in HS as well and Mobley did move more than half as good as AD what are you watching? It's like a lot of you have not seen Mobley in HS there are plenty of examples of him shooting threes, leading the fast break and crossing people over but the fact remains every scouting report of him after Kentucky says he was raw offensively and talked about him not being a post player, the same as Mobley. I have posted numerous clips showing his skills in high school. I have no idea what some of you are seeing with Mobley its like he is tripping all over the court according to some.
Mobley's passing increases his versatility. He isn't AD, and he certainly doesn't project to be as good as KG. KG's skill level as a post player was very advanced. His high school clips show that.
Not sure this year is a good sample size for anything. Sure 2 teams with bigs are left in a year where the 10 best players in the league got injured...
I never said that. I only mentioned TF's desire to sell the 3 picks plus other assets as a hypothetical scenario to acquire as a star like Zion or Luka to sell tickets. I also wrote on multiple occasions that this wasn't likely to be successful.
The fact remains is that you can win with good big men and the fact that teams are winning with starting 2 off shows that still have value.
Yes you did, the fact you think there is a scenario where those teams would be interested to trade those guys is just as bad. Likely to be successful? how about not a chance in hell, the fact that you think it is even hypothetical is ludicrous.
I wouldn't have mentioned it, if Zion and Luka weren't unhappy. I'm not suggesting that that the Rockets should attempt to try that either. There is no doubt that they would like to end up on a contender, instead of a rebuilding team like the Rockets. I'm concerned about Tilman's behavior , I think he is impatient and wants another name instead of the 2nd pick. It could be a lesser tier all star to sell tickets, unless he wants to avoid paying the LT once again. I don't care if Mobley or Green are selected. I do like Green a bit more than Evan. The Rockets should retain either one of them or even Suggs instead of trading the 2nd pick.
I was using shooting guards because a) that is what Green will predominantly be and b) I think that Tate and Martin are going to be taking most of the small forward minutes for this team moving forward. I do like some of the guys that might be 2/3 types. Love Baldwin. I also really like AJ Griffin, Caleb Houston and Kendall Brown. But those guys may not have the quickness to play the 2 many nights. Jaden Hardy is the man I might want most next year (toss up with Paulo for me). Hardy is a step below Green athletically but is bigger and much more skilled in my opinion. You and I are usually on the same side, not sure why you're bent out of shape by me complimenting Green yet you rail at folks shortchanging Mobley. Fair is fair both guys are super talented and the Rockets are lucky to be picking at the top in a year where there is top shelf talent to be had.
