CP making the finals with that kind of performance absolutely gives a boost to his legacy

Suns were never making the finals without CP, they may have been solid and a winning record team this year, but CP3 has had a major impact that altered the direction of the team.

Suns could have said naw he's too old, Bookers young we'll wait for something else to come up

But no, they traded a 1st for CP, and now they are in the finals for the first time 28 years

Sure they needed him but its also realistic to assume they are likely a second round exit if everyone was healthy. Literally everyone they played was injured. The next team they play in the finals will be injured as well. This wont change what people who actually follow the NBA think about him.

Suns made a great move trading for him though, that is true.

I disagree, a lot of people who follow NBA are still big on playoff success and performance, people can talk trash about injuries like people try to do with Leonard, or with Hakeem saying doesn't count with Jordan retired yada yada

At the end of the day, if CP3 wins a ring it's HUGE for his legacy, and him making the finals with a big closeout game has already given him a little boost

I don’t agree. What you do during a 30 point blow out is basically meaningless compared to what you do in a tied game with 5 minutes to go. So, that’s a clear case of some possessions mattering more than others.

In general, the importance of a possession varies according to score and time remaining. Similarly, the importance of a playoff game varies according to the likelihood it will affect the outcome of the series.

Sure it does. They won the series, and that’s what most people will remember. Not a bad game they dropped while up a couple games in the series.

the media’s love affair with cp3 and all of hardens past teammates like melo has always been a cheap shot at James for not bowing down to rich Paul and klutch. Harden doesn’t care and the media is mad that they can’t get under his skin. TNT named harden shaqtin a fool mvp. Harden has been robbed of all nba selections lol. And it doesn’t bother harden at all. They are so used to getting into heads of the Dwight and Durant types that harden confounds them. The nets lost in the playoffs. Harden is a choker( he doesn’t care). He basically exposed the nba for being a narrative driven league. The best guy almost never gets their flowers in the NBA. Harden is officiated differently from the regular season to the playoffs. A lot of of those bad shooting games in Houston he is being fouled and the refs swallow their whistle

good for cp3 for getting to the finals. But the nba might just be the most illegitimate major sports league ever

Sure thats what people will remember, but thats for the casual masses. When you or I discuss things like this, we'll be more privy to the context. And I think that matters.

    Y’all just hate James Harden

James ain’t like Lillard, lebron, cp3 and these fake woke athletes. He just wanna ball, so they take shots at him subliminally cause he moves to his own beat. But ask the streets what’s really happening and they’ll tell you harden is probably mentioned in more rap songs than any other nba player ever

harden was the only nba player putting money into nipsey hustle growing business in Cali. As soon as nip died all these fake woke nba players claimed they knew nip and had love for him. Harden more real than all these suckas.

harden makes his summer youth camps affordable to urban kids. Meanwhile Stephen curry and lebron charging an arm and a leg to these kids who can’t afford it. Facts is harden gets hate because he still haven’t turned his back on the hood

One of the greatest players of all time completely underrated (amongst the all time greats) because he hasn't gotten his ring yet

You was on edge when harden got injured. Dude was having an all time great playoff run. Don’t worry next year harden gonna start the year in shape and have another season with a 30 PER and a high box plus minus. This nets offense is perfect for harden to average 25/11/7 on elite shooting efficiency. Harden started his nets career out of shape and was still a mvp front runner according basketball reference. If not for that hamstring injury he probably finishes top 3

I hope one day we can talk about what Harden actually accomplished in the playoffs rather than hypothetical if so-and-so didn’t get injured scenarios. Don’t want it to happen on the Nets though.
