was bored so decided to watch The Ice Road on Netflix 0/10…would never watch again or recommend to a friend Liam Neeson, enough…it might be time to just retire if these are the type of movies you’re gonna be pushing out there was a scene where he tried to run, and it was so damn slow all I could think was “wow, u just know his old ass is tired and is gonna head to his trailer for a burger and fries once the director yells cut”
It Chapter 2 on HBO Max. Terrible movie. Adult actors were just bad. Special effects were boring. Audra and Beverly’s husband never even went to Derry. Mike went after IT when he was supposed to be in the hospital. You never felt like the adult Losers were ever in serious danger. The mini series was much better. 1/10
No movie review to post. Just want to say I'm thankful that you guys take the time to watch and review these terrible films, saving the rest of us from doing so. I also appreciate those of you who list the service through which you watch these movies.
50 Shades of Gray - .5/10 - wife was watching, I sat down and onlooked as a bystander. Terrible, terrible plot and execution. Resulting after-movie activities with wife 10/10
Misfits - 0/10 - Probably one of the dumbest movies ever with one of the most annoying voice overs and fake gangster acts ever in Nick Cannon. Hitman’s Wife Bodyguard - 5/10 - So happy it got leaked and didn’t waste my time on going to the theatre for this. What an awful script, lame plot and acting job by most A-list actors. Sure Samuel is funny with his usual MF shtick, but when loud mouth Salma Hayek joins him, it’s just not the same. She’s become a caricature of herself. Ryan has his moments, but even he seemed bored due to the script probably. And last but not least: WTF are Morgan Freeman and Antonio Banderas doing in this? It almost felt like the Expendables. Poor casting and lazy acting. I can see why the typical 90s vibe with cars flipping over, tons of explosions, GTA like hit and runs were abundant; all the budget was finished after hiring those 5. I’m not even going to comment on editing, it was laughable at times. That being said, it’s a typical 90s action comedy with a lot of gruesome deaths that were funny and Samuel and Ryan do good enough to keep it entertaining. What also helped was the 90 minutes runtime, so happy it was this short. Don’t know if COVID had an impact, but man this could’ve been so much better. If you are looking for just mind numbing fun w/ lots of killing, F-bombs, car chases and explosions, you will enjoy.
Ice Road was the worst off all the Liam action flicks. But, I still found it watchable and got my small Liam fix from it. It is strange that he made an action movie where he drove a snowplow and now he is driving a rig on ice roads. Good roles must be drying up. Just make Taken 4 -6 already. I did like the films on the train and plane. He’s running out of vehicles. Up next...a helicopter?
LET HIM GO - 6/10 Synopsis - Following the loss of their son, retired sheriff George Blackledge (Costner) and his wife Margaret (Lane) leave their Montana ranch to rescue their young grandson from the clutches of a dangerous family living off the grid in the Dakotas, headed by matriarch Blanche Weboy. When they discover the Weboys have no intention of letting the child go, George and Margaret are left with no choice but to fight for their family. Watched this one on HBO Max. It's based on a book which I imagine is better than the movie. Good acting from Costner and Lane as expected, but the story is slow and the payoff is pretty weak.
The Hunter - Williem Dafoe -- 6.3/ 10 Strange/ interesting movie that flames out in the end -- intriguing and watchable, but the ending feels like it was tacked on in the editing room.
rewatched Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and The Irishman. Still a 9.5/10 for Tarantino, maybe an 8 or 8.5/10 for Scorcese
Same writer, he wrote the 3 Wicks and then Nobody is his latest. While the Wicks are very well done gunfight violence fight choreography p*rn, this has all that along with good acting (Odenkirk is phenomenal, the baddie, Chris Lloyd and RZA are very good too) and humor. They're working on a sequel, which would be awesome.
