Wood and the 24 for Wiseman and the 7th makes sense for both. And we draft Green with number 2. Then pray and hope Scottie Barnes doesn't get picked by the Thunder but if they do then pick Keon Johnson

Wood AND #24 for Wiseman and 7th makes sense??? To whom, a 1st grader.

Wiseman didn't show anything his first yr. Not saying that he is but he could be a bust.

Stop over valuing wood, he is a good player but realistically not worth the second overall pick from last year AND the 7th from this years draft. We would definitely need to give up draft compensation as well.

Wiseman was over drafted last draft, no one called him a Unicorn.

I am with you re Wood - he had a wonderful season, BUT he is a flawed big man defensively. I love the idea of watching Wood, KPjr and pick 2 grow together (whatever pick 2 is!) - and finding players to cover their weaknesses.

But I am also all about getting a true superstar, which makes anyone expendable. So IF Mobley is pick 2 (doesn't have to be!), then I can see why trading Wood while his value is highest (future improvement potential and team friendly contract) makes sense.

#2 picks lose their value as soon as they play.
Before the draft you can trade them for an all star
After you draft them, they become who they are. Very rarely is that an all-star!!!
A ton of 2 picks are busts - and Wisemans value is now what we have seen. His draft position simply dictates matching salary.

Wood was 21ppg inside out last season. If the Warriors want a win now guy, they may think about Wiseman and 7.

(I wouldn't if I was them - but depends how they view Wiseman!!)

I’d trade for Simmons if it doesn’t mean giving up the #2 pick

I’d want him at the 4 or 5 situations and he understands KPJ is the primary point

I’d take a chance for Wall, Gordon, and a couple of picks

    Fair trade

    I want to keep 23 or 24.

Would be willing to trade a future pick to make this trade happen. I'm hoping Wieskamp or Murphy falls to 23.

At this point. The only thing I'm trading Wood for is #3 or #4.

Anything less and it's a very hard no.

Even for 4, I would HOPE to still get another asset back (probably not but would be great.. also.. its not happening at all haha)

    Vomit inducing trade.

All the playoff caliber teams covet Wood but Rockets fans want to give him away.

No one wants to give Wood away. His value is at an all time high and he is on a team going nowhere. As great as he is, he is a complementary player not one to build around. Most fear in a short time he will force a trade (why wouldn’t he) and diminish his return trade value to the team. Moving now Wood is proactive; IMO.

Do you offer the Jazz the #2 pick for Mitchell?

No, it's delusional that they will give him up. We have to give up Wall to make it work. That's never going to happen. They are a moderate contender, they don't want to rebuild.

    NYK IN: Wall
NYK OUT: 2021 2nd via Det

    CHA IN: Gordon
CHA OUT: 2023 2nd via Bos

NOP IN: Augustin, House, Bradley and 2023 1st via Mil
NOP OUT: Adams, Bledsoe and #10 in 2021 draft

    CLE IN: #10, #23, #24 in 2021 draft
CLE OUT: Love and #3 in 2021 draft

HOU IN: Bledsoe, Adams, Love, 2021 2nd via Det, 2023 2nd via Bos and #3 in 2021 draft (Mobley)
HOU OUT: Wall, Gordon, Augustin, House, Bradley and 2023 1st via Mil, #23 and #24 in 2021 draft
    HOU Re-Sign Olynyk (2 years, $32.5m, 1st year $20m & 2nd year PO) and Wilson (Vet min)

Rockets take on a few bad contracts to acquire the #3 pick while retaining the #2 pick. This trade only works if the Knicks and Hornets strike out on ALL free agents, the Pelicans don’t like their options at #10 and the Pels/Cavs value clearing their books to re-sign current players over their draft options.

    Rockets 2021/22 depth chart:
    Tate/Bledsoe/Thomas
    KPJ/Brooks
    Green/Martin
    Wood/Love/Wilson
    Olynyk/Adams/Mobley

In this trade the Rockets shift some bad salary around while bringing in solid vets that can help the young guards develop. Olynyk, Love and Adams will be great influences on Wood and Mobley. This also gives Mobley the opportunity to develop in the G-league for a year so less pressure is on him to make an impact right away. Bledsoe can help steady the ship as a vet ball handler off of the bench and should be a good influence on KPJ/Green without stealing minutes. Thomas can be groomed for 6th man and take over from Bledsoe when the time is right.
