Totally pumped for next week! Anyone hear any early reviews yet? Saw something on the imdb message boards that Vin Diesel leaked something on his facebook page that the studios were extremely happy with this movie that they've ok'd money for two more Riddick movies. Hmmmmmm...rumor??? maybe maybe no
Well it turned out to be pretty damn good. I think Pitch Black is still the best, especially since Riddick took many of the same elements from it. But I liked that the movie was essentialy a Riddick survival story. And I wouldn't mind seeing more, as long as they continue to keep the story simple.
It was one of the worst movies I've seen in a while. Script was terrible. It didn't feel at all sci-fi, it was more of a slasher film. Might as well have watched You're Next instead.
It was meh, a run of the mill horro type movie. Definitely felt like a slasher film, as another poster said.
Saw this with the wifey this weekend (who gained herself a CFEC...chick flick earned credit...for use in the future ). Was a little disappointed with the Spoiler minimal use of the Necros and Vaako...but oh well...Riddick and the Necros have moved on...which is a good thing. Thought the gore was a little over-the-top, but all-in-all, was pretty satisfied with the movie. My wife, who has never seen either of the first two, said that she liked it. So we've come away with some new thoughts about Riddick... Spoiler ...he does not care to participate in an all-hot-chick orgy. If that drink was really THAT good, I think I'd like to have some. I sure as hell wouldn't have stayed sitting on the thrown while that was going on over to the side...even if one of them was an assassin. Spoiler ...he digs Dahl's toenail polish. lol. Spoiler ...he must be some sort of medical wizard. How the hell he healed himself in the beginning of the film...almost makes no sense. I recognize that this film wasn't the greatest sci-fi flick, but it sure did go a long way to appease the Riddick fanbase. I was really excited when I heard the news of this coming out...and I'm definitely glad they did. I think the storyline and survival mode definitely lived up to Riddick's reputation. Good action flick. Few questions though... I mentioned earlier that the studio had ok'd two additional Riddicks... Spoiler ...was Dahl in Riddick's ship at the end? ...will Johns make a return? ...will we see more Dahl boobage?
If you check out the review on badassdigest, they go into some detail about the sexuality of the film. Personally though, I think they read too much into it. What I took it from it was Spoiler he just didn't feel like he belonged there in that world and no amount of power, booze or women would make him happy. He wanted to find his homeworld. As for future films, I'ver heard rumours that the next one is supposed to have something to do with the Underverse. Spoiler But Dahl wasn't in his ship at the end and I don't think we'll Johns again...though I wouldn't mind if we did.
Nothing concrete...but it does sound like Riddick 4 is moving forward. Would like to see Vin finish this series out with two more films. https://www.gamesradar.com/vin-diesel-gives-update-on-riddick-4-and-potential-new-riddick-game/
Vin Diesel like money. That's one franchise he's the lead and can get producer credit. He can go with the FF route, hire a multi-racial cast with big action set pieces that will do well internationally. Reviving franchises.
Is there another actor in history who has made more money by being a terrible actor and making terrible movies?
Since bball forum and we can talk about height. D'Wayne Johnson is 6'5". Pretty established since his wrestling days, people able to compare with other athletes. Vin is listed as 6'0" although, some people say he's really 5'11" One of the guys below is standing on something. Baseline:
