If you really consider John Wall to still be a star player then we really have nothing more to discuss about this topic bro respectfully. John Wall is just a name at this point, his best days are long gone. Olynyk? Really? LMAO, the crazy part is that I've followed KO since he played for Gonzaga. I really wanted Houston to draft him because I knew he was going to be a very serviceable big for at least a decade (which he is). But star player for Olynyk bro? You must be a Gonzaga alumni since you mentioned KO and Suggs. I would much rather draft Mobley over Suggs honestly. Yes Houston currently has 0 all-star players aka 0 star players. Wood and KPJ are close to maybe being all-star calibur players but Houston would really have to have a decent season for that to happen.
Bro, I like Suggs... But the right choice is clearly Green.... Look at Bucks with Giannis thou, could be us with Mobley.... Then we would have atleast two stars in KPJ and Mobley. Think of the alley oops and defensive dominance.
Giannis played spectacular tonight along with Middleton. If you are telling me Mobley could be that player then sign up for that lol. I just don't know if he really can be Giannis or similar to a Giannis or AD realistically...
Agreed. Christian wood is 25 and i don't think he is honestly in our future plans. For a team like the cavs it could possibly make sense. We might be able to trade wood and gordon to cavs for kevin love and the third pick. We'll play love until Mobley develops his body enough to play without getting a serious injury. Pg Wall/ kpj Kpj/ jgreen Tate Kevin love with mobley developing slowly and gettinf nba ready Olynyk
I'm not solidly on the Green train either .... Suggs either to be honest. I just don't think Mobley is the unicorn people make him out to be , particularly offensively - He'd have to improve by leaps and bounds to be a #2 offensive threat on a contending team. Defensively I expect him to be above average .... But that's not enough for me to draft him #2 overall. As the best "Big Man" prospect in this draft & called a "Unicorn" (Aint but one unicorn and that's Durant) , I'm expecting him to dominate the opposition on most nights against college players - that just isn't the case. Just take a look at his game logs: California Baptist 21 / 9 Montana 11 / 7 BYU 17 / 11 Uconn 17 / 7 UC-Irvine 22 / 11 Santa Clara 17 / 7 Colorado 12 / 7 Utah 3 / 5 NO FG attempts in 31 minutes ?! Arizona 19 / 11 Arizona St 19 / 13 UC-Riverside 20 / 11 Washington 17 / 6 Washington St 17 / 3 Oregon St 12 / 13 California 25 / 8 Oregon St 14 / 13 Stanford 23 / 11 UCLA 9 / 9 Washington 17 / 7 Washington St 20 / 11 Arizona St 22 / 9 Arizona 23 / 5 Oregon 11 / 5 Colorado 13 / 5 Utah 11 / 8 Stanford 10 / 8 UCLA 13 / 11 Utah 26 / 9 Colorado 26 / 9 Drake 17 / 11 Kansas 10 / 13 Oregon 10 / 8 Gonzaga 17 / 5 There's a handful of pretty good games over the course of the season .... But there's a whole buncha "Meh" nights too. The best player on the court scoring 3 points and 5 boards or the supposed best big man in the nation coming away with 5 or fewer rebounds? I just don't see the dominance that I need to use such a premium pick.
I'm referring to his power forward skills, not his point guard ability. I know Mobley is a better defender and he has a unique and versatile skill set with great height.
You said a better Myles Turner is Mobley's ceiling. I'm saying that Mobley is already a better Myles Turner. Right now.
I didn't mean that. I was referring to his power game and rebounding. I do admit he is better than Myles Turner.
Fine. Mobley needs to get stronger and prove it to the Rockets that he is worthy of the 2nd pick selection, so does Jalen Green and anyone else.
I'm not thrilled about drafting a soft center. If he struggles with physical players in college...He's really going to struggle in the NBA. I'm not a fan of his finesse game....he plays like he's afraid of contact. Not good. Those soft picks and slow post moves... won't work in the NBA. He'll get stripped and blocked a whole bunch. Pass!
