61% TS while playing with NBa three line is nothing to sneeze at imho. 46/36/83 against the competition and at his age is more than projectable. If Cade goes 1, greens the BPA. Take him and don’t even hesitate to
Kenyon Martin Jr managed 50/36/71 in the actual NBA when only a little bit older than Green.... it's that "more than projectable" too?
Olajuwon-Sampson were considered undersized when they came out. Thin Towers was a derision for them too. Centers were 280-300 lbs in 80's and 90's. @ApacheWarrior wants "muscle 5's" at 235-255. That was considered small back in the day.
If Martin were getting the same shots that Green was taking I’d be impressed. Open dunks and threes yeah Martin better be shooting decently.
Therein lies the problem, maybe Green should be taking more efficient shots AND getting to the FT line more often. Especially if he lacks impact on defense.
Let me clarify....I would like two centers on my roster that have a little sand in their pants. Bassey at 235 pounds (dropped for combine) frame and maybe D Theis or Aron Baynes type at approximately 250 pounds. Then at PF I can settle for two 215 to 230 pounds frames. Preferably with height, don't give 6'5" size, please. I'm good with Wood but don't want Mobley at #2 to back up Wood. I'm good with Garuba or Kai Jones drafted in the 20's to backup Wood, but drafted in the 20's. I end up with two big Bigs and two PF's (that one or the other can slide to Center in Small Ball lineups): Center: one vet (Aron Baynes or D Theis type) with one rookie (Bassey) PF: one vet (Wood) with one rookie (Kai Jones or Garuba) Vet training rookie the ropes, transitioning to the NBA. *Side Note: I believe the centers/PF of today's should be drafted from #17 to second round. Not with a top 4 pick......unless it is Olajuwon level. Mobley might be a one hit wonder. I need more track record on his tendencies like increasing 3PA's from year to year. Mobley sir, is no Olajuwon (who gave me a few years in college to judge).... he is more Sampson than anything else. Actually that is my comp for Mobley. Sampson might have been top 50 or top 100 players in the NBA.....but that was all college reputation. D-rock you are giving my ulcers, ulcers! Lol! P.S. I want all my bigs (PF's / Centers) to be able to shoot (4 to 6) 3's per game eventually. For spacing purposes.....allows Porter,Wall,Green,EGo space to carve up the defense.
I think green would be a good pick anybody who says they have a will to win at any cost my kinda player i would want on my team
Open transition dunks and lobs accounted for a lot of Green's scoring too... Now sure, Green has a better handle than KMJ, but they both derive a lot of their scoring potential from athleticism. If KJM keeps hitting 36% of his 3's (not a given, but possible) he could give you 70%of what Green would bring to the table offensively while not being a traffic cone defensively. If so, why draft Green?
If Mobley is the next Ralph then by GOD he needs to be our pick!!!! Ralph Sampson was one of the greatest college players of all time! Ralph was an absolute legend (3× College Player of the Year) and unequivocal unanimous 1st pick overall. Ralph was also NBA ROY and 4× NBA All Star. Would have been ranked higher All Time list if not for injuries derailng his career. But no need for ulcers big guy, just healthy debate.
many of us are very excited about KMJs future. you might say “but would you take KMJ #2 in this draft knowing what we know now?” no, because he doesn’t have a handle that can create. A full 77% of his FGs were assisted including 100% of his 3 point makes. no handles, no shot creation and as a result unclear passing capabilities. clearly Green isn’t Ja Morant or Luka or Trae in this category… sadly. for as talented as this draft supposedly is, there aren’t obvious #1 guys beyond Cade… and some even question him in that regard. so you have to extrapolate a bit. Extrapolation on Green has him eventually able to give you 30,5,5 at his best aka Booker, Beal, LaVine, etc. but highly unlikely ever 10 assists a game type thing and to get that 30,5,5 even would be unlikely but that’s the goal lol. extrapolation on Mobley wound have him at 23,13 with 3 blocks and a steal type thing. to me both players are similarly rated so it comes down to who I think ultimately gets there more… and so far just from mentality and want to I lean Green but it’s close. And to be fair I think Suggs has solid potential too. Maybe he’s a 20/10 guy… but again, extrapolation…
I don't see Green ever even coming close to 30 points a game unless he gains a lot of skills he currently doesn't have.
Are the Rockets moving to the college level? The only thing I saw Ralph Sampson do good in a Rocket uniform was the turnaround jumper to eliminate the Lakers. Other than that he was meh in the pros. Always hurt....as I've said, the greatest ability is availability. What good is it to have the Mercedes if it always in the shop? Take care, Bro
I thought the earlier projection for Green to average 25 points was outrageous. Now its 30 points. Crazy. Lower those expectations - not fair to Green.
Mobley has zero history of injuries. Before Ralph was injured he was THE Unicorn, what he could do at 7'4 was mindblowing. Ralph did not earn ROY and 4 All NBA based on his rep from college. That is a crazy implication.
Seriously, the kid can't even average 20 a game in the D league but he's gonna put up 30 a game in the NBA? Okay.... The hype has gotten insane and it's because there's so little tape on the kid. I think if he played a full season in college against teams that cared about winning things would be very different
