Eh, I guess the silver lining is we split the series? Still our record against Detroit this year should NOT be this bad. That's inexcusable.
Lol. Your opinions are worthless. Go jerk off BOB lol. Such a hypocrite. You're nothing more than a worthless troll
If anything, this just hopefully reminds everyone that our bullpen is trash and Click can’t sit on his hands this year. I love that our starters have been going deep into games but, Stanek, Raley, Taylor isn’t the answer.
Well Im glad I missed this dumpster fire of a game. Of course the bullpen gave it up. Javier’s performance was pretty disappointing. Taylor and Raley stink. our hitters got dominated today and that sucks. Fortunately that doesn’t happen often. Extra inning games are tough for us because of our awful pen.
Leaving C.Javier was very questionable to me, he pitched 50 in just 1 2/3 innings (walking 4 should be a red flag) while Odorizzi only pitched 77 in just 5 innings. Leaving M.Brantley in the bench when he could of pinch-hit in the 10th with 2 on and 0 outs. Not walking R.Grossman, or even load the bases since only 1 run wins. Couldn't Pressley pitch 2 innings? Tigers best RP pitched 2 innings in this game. We better win the next series.
Hard to blame the bullpen when they only gave up 1 run in 4 innings prior to the 10th. This one is on the offense.
I see Raley faced 3 batters and gave up a hit and a walk. I see that Javier walked 4 in 1 2/3 innings. I see taylor immediately gave up the sacrifice although thats a tough spot. Overall not good but yes I hear ya on the offense. The hitters seem to have those days every now and then. Shake it off and get the next series.
In a game we lost 2-1 in extra innings you wanna b**** about the pen? Holy hell. And leave it to f’ing Mr. Scarface to besmirch the only championship winning manager in our franchises history bc he didn’t stop cheaters from cheating in a sport full of cheating. Shut this thread down.
Taylor wasn't terrible, but with a man on second you need a strikeout pitcher, not a soft contact pitcher. Taylor in the 9th, Pressly in the 10th would have been a far better combination. And Brantly should have PH for Straw. Also Raley should never have come in - Javier was finding his groove and - even if he didn't - he was giving up no hits. Worst case he walks one more and then bring in a reliever. These are all tactical missteps - and I called each one before it happened. I love Dusty as a motivator, and I hate his tactical management.
And everyone would have screamed and hollered had Taylor or whoever lost the game in the bottom of the 9th. Personally, I think his biggest mistake was not pinch hitting Brantley for Castro.
The bullpen was mostly erratic (for lack of a better word) but they managed to fight through and have the game at 1-1 through 9. More of a gritty outing than a good one. Odorizzi really had to fight through as well. His middle finger was problematic and he had no control of his breaking pitches.
