I don't know if this has been posted, but Bobby Brown gives a lot of good info about Green and Kuminga and the higher level of preparation they got by choosing the G-League

    https://rocketswire.usatoday.com/20...-what-he-learned-playing-next-to-jalen-green/
Topics discussed on Friday’s new episode include:

    • The value of the NBA’s new “professional pathway” program to prospects like Green and Kuminga
    • What Green’s demeanor is like, on and off the court
    • How Green improved during his season in the G League
    • Potential NBA comparisons for both Green and Kuminga
    • Why Brown wants Green to be Houston’s choice at No. 2 overall
    • What comes next for Brown, now that more international basketball opportunities could open up next season
    Some Quotes about Jalen Green

"(His maturity and off-court drive) stood out to me when I was first around him...He is very dedicated to the game, wants to live in the gym and wants to get better and grow. And he loves to compete...he wants to win every game, he'll fight you if he has too...that's what you want to see from a young player...He was all about business...He adapted to that quickly at a young age"

"All he cares about is hooping and getting better"

"(He got better at) slowing down and playing at his pace, in the beginning he was trying to do everything 100mph, but he had Jarret Jack and myself to watch doing drills and Coach Shaw would point out look how they are not in a rush or how they come off screens or how they are not in a rush...He picked it up everyday and figured it out..."

"(Young Player comparison) Ja Morant as far as his athleticism and explosiveness...I think he shoots a little better than Ja, but as far as everything else...that quick leaping ability and the other stuff he does is similar to Ja Morant"

"I like (KPJ and Jalen Green) in the backcourt for sure, SCARY!"

"(Green) can come in immediately (and be a good starter) for sure, because with that work ethic and wanting to be the best, the transition is going to be easy for him, especially on a team with a young core...He can make an impact right away"

"For sure, I say (Jalen) should go #1... I mean, Houston selects #2, so I want him to go to Houston"

Add strips clubs to that and you're got you-know-who.

It's just funny to me that BB talks about the Rockets like they are his team, like he's a big fan. I guess that's cool. I love that first quote.

Not sure this has been discussed, but is there a reason why Jalen Green didn’t go to college? Was it a grades/qualification issue? Possible red flag?

Bobby remembers Houston gave him a bunch of cash because he was Harden's friend.

I mean I guess it's POSSIBLE, but KJ Martin just played post-grad at a Private High School.

This was the first year of the NBA having a G League select team, so he wanted to try a different route.

College is expensive (in time) and comes with a lot of extra red tape and distractions that don't give a top athlete individual attention.

He was the poster boy for this new path to the NBA. They gave him more money than the NCAA ever would while getting showcased and developed with adults. Ignite is supposed to be a legitimate alternative to the NCAA with the main advantage being getting PAID.

On topic, I know this is probably just BB doing a solid got his boy but if this is true it might just move the needle for me from Mobley to Green. At the end of the day, it's that drive that separates the good players from the great ones.

Money yes, better competition? Not really.

There are no top tier players in the G league and no one plays any defense at all. It's just run and gun super quick paced All-Star game type games.

The games mean more in college and top tier talent exists in college.

Sources told me he was waiting for a scholarship offer from Rice. It never came.

a fraction of college players are capable of playing in the G-League. Everyone in the G-League is capable of playing in the G-League. You're also playing against men.

Lol, actually if you listen to the podcast he basically is calling him James Harden without the strip clubs

Seems like he felt like the G-League was better preparation, and wanted to be able to focus on being a paid to become a better Pro Basketball player. There were also questions about how much of a season there would be due to COVID the 19th pandemic.

He said that at 19, he was surprised that Kuminga has an NBA ready body.

He said Kuminga plays defense and rebounds.

He said he is ready to play in the NBA and had a NBA body from day 1. He compared him to Kahwi and says he worked hard and picked up things quickly despite not being a native English speaker. He talks about Kuminga near the end, but didn't seem quite as close with him.
