Fast forward 5 years, and who knows if any of these top 4 guys that we are talking about will be the top player of the draft. They all have some potential red flags and once they get to the NBA, it is still down to growth and development from there. The best player, while unlikely, could end up being Kuminga or Mitchell or someone else that no one is talking about.

    1. Gets you 40 wins.
    2. Gets you 45 wins.
    3. Gets you 55 wins.

I have watched video after video of Jalen Green and I just don't see how you can take him over Suggs. Seems like the type of guy that would average 26/2/4 with a +/- of -8. Dunk and flex while being down 20 points.

Suggs would be 22/6/10 with a +/- of +8. You take the playmaker over the scorer *every time*. You take either over the big guy *every time*. After just a couple days of watching tape it's clear which of these players will elevate this team and replace what CP3/Harden did.

Interesting, I wonder if people were that sure about Jimmer Fredette.

OK, close the thread, the science is proven!

Cp3 and Harden are great shooters Suggs cant replace them. Suggs averaged 14 pts vs college comp you think hed go 22/6/10 in the NBA? Lol.

Brokeshot playmakers are guys like Maxey and Simmons and get 0 wins for their team offensively.

Shooting >>>> playmaking every time. Curry the shooter is superior playmaker to Ben Simmons simply because his shooting opens it up for everyone else while Simmons' man ignores him. Easier for Herro to learn playmaking than it is for Giannis to learn shooting.

Draft the greatest shooter of all time then.

    Seems simple enough.

There's been way more point gods leading their teams to deep playoff runs than elite shooters.

And yes Jalen Suggs gives me point god vibes. Just like at his BYU tape alone. Dude just has a feel for the game.

Again, I'll be happy either way and would look forward to watching either progress. I was sweating that we were getting #18. I reeeeally don't want Mobley though.

Jalen Suggs gives me light Chauncey Billups vibes but is that enough to draft him over Mobley?

    Has there really though?

Let's have a look at the NBA champions from the last 30 years as an example shall we? I'll separate it by playmaker or scorer as broad definitions on who leads the team.

    Lakers- Lebron - playmaker
Raptors - Kawhi - more shooter/scorer than point god.
    Warriors - shooter(s)
    Warriors - shooter(s)
    Cavs - Playmaker
    Warriors - shooter(s)
    Spurs - Kawhi - scorer
    Heat - Playmaker
    Heat - Playmaker
    Mavs - Scorer
    Lakers - Scorer
    Lakers - Scorer
    Celtics - Scorer
    Spurs - Scorer(s)
    Heat - Scorer
    Spurs - Scorer(s)
    Pistons - Defense?
    Spurs - Scorer
    Lakers - Scorer
    Lakers - Scorer
    Lakers - Scorer
    Spurs - Defense/Scorer
    Bulls - Scorer
    Bulls - Scorer
    Bulls - Scorer
    Rockets - Scorer
    Rockets - Scorer
    Bulls - Scorer
    Bulls - Scorer
    Bulls - Scorer

By my count, there's not a single "Point God" who's taken their team all the way in the last 30 years. The only playmaker archetype to do so is Lebron fricking James, Suggs is not Lebron James. If we're going based on archetype alone, then there's no argument that Green is the better choice, history proves it. Look at how many of those teams were lead by athletic wings (hint: almost all of them) or scorers. Case closed.

That's fair. I'd say that a point god qualifies as a Playmaker so we'll run with that. Steph is a Playmaker/Scorer so it's disingenuous to describe him as purely a shooter. Hes a better shooter than Green and his playmaking is about equal to Suggs.. The Pistons best player was Billups who is someone Suggs is compared to. So how many teams won chips without an elite Playmaker? Mavericks? Spurs if you don't consider Tony Parker a Playmaker? Lakers with Kobe/Shaq is about as close as you can get until you get into the 90s where centers dominated.

You need an elite Playmaker on your team to break down defenses and the Rockets don't have one and won't have one if they draft Green. Lebron, Curry, Parker, Billups were all elite Playmakers and Lowry wasn't too shabby either.

I'm cool with Green. I prefer Suggs because it would cover something that is key to winning chips. A hard nose, defensive minded, intelligent Playmaker.

This team could use some intelligence. I'll take Brandon Roy/Chauncey Billups over Bradley Beal/Devin Booker 10/10 times.

Recently I just voted for Green in the Clutch poll but Im leaning now towards Suggs.

Green is an athletic freak and scoring machine, super sexy prospect.

Mobley is "the unicorn" with DPoY potential plus offensive versatility.

Suggs is rock solid and right now the most grown and ready player (yet he will improve). He was also on a very good team and is a pure PG and for that reason didn't have great scoring numbers. So he doesnt look as sexy as the other 2.

But, I envision him as a franchise guy, a winning leader who you can build around with different kind of scorers. We should be thrilled just to have the option of picking THAT kind of player.

He does have a good feel for the game. But yeah physically he doesn't stand out as much as Green or Mobley

Doesn't need to be lol. I'll take 20/10 and great defense over 28/3 with mediocre defense.

I'm cool with Green but I just feel like Suggs is gonna end up a HoF player. His game just looks the most developed at such a young age. Give me a Ja Morant type or a CP3 type over a big stiff any day.
