I think Green is the obvious pick for number 2. Mobely and Suggs is where people should be having the debate tbh.
If Kuminga is 6’6, Green ain’t 6’6. 6’4-6’5 max “The leg is bent!” “Slightly leaning!” “Camera angle!” “Camera is playing tricks on your eyes!” [unscientific]
I dont know that it makes that much difference if he is 6'6" or 6'3". Its not like he was ever going to be a defensive stopper. He's taller than Colin Sexton. He's tall enough to score points.
https://therokuchannel.roku.com/details/450f15e5668457fd8d51d6ab9b384ad0/prodigy It's his drive. My greatest fear of his was that he would be like a Jordan Clarkson. He probably is the most Tiger Woods- Williams sister prospect I've ever seen. Great support system that pushes him to no end. I don't think there is a chance he is a bust. So his low floor, to me was just me stereotyping based on past guards like many are stereotyping Mobley based on past centers. You can only look at the actual player, there is no mirror image. The kid skipped 8th grade to train and then he skipped college to train. We just took KJM who also skipped college to train in a different way and he's way better than I could have ever expected. All Jalen Green wants to do is get better. You can't ask for more than that.
Exactly! The intangibles you want when you're looking for in a potential star is not only talent, but you also want big time drive and intelligence...
forced perspective in the first pic and Green slouching in the others. Bigger question mark will by how will Kuminga succeed in the front court at 6'6. Yikes. I really thought he was closer to 6'8.
I too am leaning more towards Green after having previously leaned more towards Mobley. Might start a thread about it. Idk.
You can watch his latest games with Ignite...he is 6'4 tops, put Jarret Jack next to him whos 6'3 and you'll see small difference
The drive is there, the talent is there, the fit(although thats the last priority ) is there. Jalen Green makes too much sense for this team. He's also the safest bet in the draft. They all have question marks but this dude has the least. People who want Suggs lean towards intangibles like winning mentality and leadership, they see someone like Cp3 and Lowry. People who want Mobely see a unicorn that could be a high end superstar like AD or Giannis. People who want either of these two, how much do you value Wood and KPJ? If we draft Mobely, I would trade Wood if we draft him. If we draft Suggs, that means KPJ is going to have the ball in his hands less.
Don’t want to end up with a small back court and also don’t want to end up with a Portland problem with two scoring guards who can’t play together and are small on top of that. I would hate to watch a “your turn…my turn” system
First of all Mobley is a whopping 8 months older so they are the same age essentially. I didnt watch that video specifically but as a prospect Green is known for his ISO abilities and not his facilitating. He may grow into that but given his 1:1 assist to turnover ratio in the g league I am not sure that playmaker is a natural aspect of his game. Can he get better? Sure. Will he get better? Thats a question that is above my paygrade.
Cade Cunningham has a negative AST/TO ratio and yet he's a consensus #1 pick and everyone seems to agree that he is a "natural playmaker". Evan Mobley, who i assume is the guy you prefer at #2, has no offensive game whatsoever. He is shooting 30% from the college 3pt line which would be a 2pt shot in the NBA. He has one offensive move (turnaround into hookshot). Will he get better? Maybe, but it makes no sense to talk down on any of these guys because no one really knows anything. Just going off of what i think Jalen Green is menatlity wise, i think he has a high chance of improving upon any of his weaknesses because he seems to realize them and work on them. For me personally, the more i watch of Jalen Green the more convinced i am with him being THE guy. Mobley doesn't give me that feeling with anything he does. Personally, i also prefer a good Guard over a good Big. Towns was a much more polished player when coming out of college and the timberwolves can't get anywhere despite him being pretty good offensively.
You forgot: “The measurements are barefoot. Those photos are not.” “Players wear different thickness soles” “The G-League has *everyone* listed at a round inch. Human heights aren’t all exactly at the inch mark”
At that point, if you are that in on Green, you get rid of KJP and draft Delano Banton, or someone else big. I dont think having to replace KJP is going to be a deal breaker for the Green hardcore loyalists. Im not real keen on going back to iso ball, either, but the fact that I dont want to watch it doesnt mean it won't work. If he's really MJ reincatnated, as some would have us believe, you fit the pieces around him. I think its important to draw a distinction between "he can't effectively score tons of points on isos" and "its boring to watch him score tons of points in isos".
Kuminga is 6'8 source https://ca.nba.com/news/2021-nba-dr...layer-comparisons-/11dsklbxfsdaw1v9u31g1umb4t
