The most important ratingto look at on NBADraft.net when judging prospects is the INTANGIBLES rating

I went through most if not all the great players on nbadraft.net currently or going back to 2008 draft when the site got a major overhaul on how they did ratings on draft prospects. Intangibles measure how great that prospects mental makeup is and how they project to the nba when it comes to impacting winning

    check this out:

    of the current players

trae young was rated 9/10 in intangibles

    luka doncic was a 10/10

deandre ayton was a solid 8/10

and judging from prospects in the past

james harden was a 10/10.. i believe luka and harden are the only 10 outta 10's that i have seen on that website since 2008

    kawhi leonard was rated 9/10

    joel embiid was rated 8/10

    donovan mitchell was rated 8/10

    giannis was a 8/10

    stephen curry was an 8/10

now for the alarming part.. i have found that anything 7 and below is potential bust territory with a few exceptions and 2 are on the rockets

    christian wood was a 7/10

kevin porter jr was a 6/10

a few other players with low intangible ratings of the past

demarcus cousins was a horrible 5/10

    rudy gobert was a 7/10

evan mobley is rated a 7/10

suggs is the safe pick i think, followed by green. it has to be one of those 2 for us

    Fultz was an 8
    Bamba a 9
    Lonzo 8
    Josh Jackson a 9

I mean...this was with like 2 mins of research. NBAdraft.net is just another website with opinions about the players. They haven't found some magical number to determine the potential of a player.

Mobley struggles with motivation which is the biggest red flag ever to me.

Some players are gifted enough to be very good without the hard work but none of them is talented enough to be the best without hard work.

Kobe, Jordan, Harden all of these insanely good players have that hard work part in common. I don’t think Mobley will get anywhere close to where we want him to be without the work ethic.

Right now he is 4th in my list behind suggs for that reason only.

I'm sorry but I can't put Harden in the hardwork category as Jordan/Kobe. Kobe and Jordan NEVER took nights off. Harden is good but never was a killer instinct kind of player.

I agree with that part but we know that Harden came out with a new move after every summer so he definetely puts the work in.

I didn't mind him getting to the line but when constantly play to get those calls then that effects your mentality when you don't get them. Jordan and Kobe went to the basket to score (not to draw fouls). If they got fouled and it was not called, they were upset if they missed the shot.

Does intangibles still mean what I thought it meant?

    Evan Mobley

Weaknesses: The biggest hurdle for Evan Mobley is himself. He can be as good as he wants to be, but the big question is, how badly does he want to be great? He looks like AD 2.0 at times, but his body language and energy level raises red flags for some

that weakness description sounds like a cross between channing frye and andrea bargnani

Good find, however, Intangibles should mean diving for the ball rather than how much a player wants to be great.

    That is Motor and Drive.

I have not been impressed with the current coaching staff so I am not sure they know what player type they want.

Might just go searching for new assistant coaches at least.

I could see Silas wanting to have a PG rather than a big as well.

After that disastrous record, you need to find the perfect floor general, which can interchange with KPJ and slide to the 2 as well.

After knowing your system and plays, then you get the big man.

That's because you mostly just follow the media's opinion of things, even if you're unaware of it.

Kobe and Jordan took plenty of nights off, you just don't remember them. Hell, Kobe quit on the Lakers when they had a **** team and Jordan quit for an entire year, lmao.

To score high on "body language", one must have the mean mug.

For one, I hate when people try to ascribe anything to “body language.” Give me a break. Second, big guys move differently, often appear like they’re lumbering when they’re not. It’s the same with long-legged sprinters: It looks like they are not pumping their legs as fast as they could, but they are blowing by everyone.

I agree fully that intangibles are huge. You have to have the will to win. A competitive spirit is critical to putting in the work to improve, and demanding high standards of your teammates. This, in turn, elevates everyone. Did anyone see John Collins' interview after the Hawks-Bucks game last night? It was excellent. Collins is a passionate player who has high intensity, but also is charismatic and enjoys himself. THAT is exactly the type of player that is required on a team with a winning culture. George Springer is a good example in baseball.

We are currently relying on a "lead guard" who 2 months ago was involved in a fight in a Miami strip club parking lot at 8am on a gameday. Harden was cut from the same cloth, but had better bodyguards. We need a LEADER. That's just one of many reasons why I'm all-in for Jalen Suggs.

I'm sorry, OP, but the ranking means nothing:

    Anthony Bennett: 8/10
    Adam Morrison: 10/10
    Marvin Bagley: 8/10
    Jahlil Okafor: 9/10

It's just one category on a player scouting website. It's going to be wrong like every other site from time to time. There are going to be great players that weren't seen as "intangibles" guys going into the draft and amazing "intangibles" guys who bust.
