We owe the tigers a severe beating. They caught us early during our covid debacle. I want to smash that crap team.
- Every starter had a hit and either scored or drove in a run - SIX multi-hit games - SEVEN had an RBI This doesn't include Chas's jack
springer is gone, no point in wishing he was back bc it can’t happen. Might as well wish we had Cole and JD Martinez too. Bregs and hopefully JV otoh, will definitely be back. This team is good enough that we don’t have to pine for players long gone.
I’d love to have Verlander, but if he was here, do you really think Framber becomes Framber? Luis Garcia and Christian Javier are given such opportunities?
That 2019 Astros team that had these guys + Cole was the best team in many years. I'm STILL miffed that we didn't convert a 2-0 lead in the 7th inning of Game 7 to a win. Statistically, that was the best offensive team in 90 years... AND they had Verlander (Cy Young winner), Cole (best pitcher in the league) and Greinke. We did kind of steal one in 2017 though -- the Dodgers had a better regular season.
They lost game 1 (Cole), they lost game 2 (Verlander) and they lost game 6 (Verlander). The rotation was set up perfectly, they had home field advantage, and couldn’t get it done. Game 7 was dissapointing, but that wasn’t the sole reason they didn’t win it all. They flexed well in DC and honestly that should have been the same outcomes for any of those above 3 games. Just one of those game goes according to the plan and there is no game 7.
They have some highly interesting prospects in Rutschman, the Oregon State catcher they took first overall in '19, and Grayson Rodriguez, a hs rhp they took 11th in 2018. They just took Kjerstad, the Arkansas RF with huge power, 2nd overall in 2020 but he hasn't played much yet due to myocarditis. Elias just took over in '19 so hopefully they are patient with him. He was one of the guys who was extremely high on taking Correa first overall in 2012 so I bet he can turn the organization around eventually. https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/...0-mlb-draft-remains-sidelined-by-myocarditis/ https://www.baltimoresun.com/sports...0210611-qbbp76uydzfhfga7ugsgsvxa6i-story.html https://www.baltimoresun.com/sports...0210608-lsmeyky75vftpgdjfjpz4rexpu-story.html https://www.nbcwashington.com/news/...minors-after-baseball-america-update/2694168/
