This stuff still gives me chills. Orlando had to keep doubling and Horry and the “others” kept making them pay. I understand what they were thinking in going after Barkley, but we were never the same after that horrible trade.

We should have just went after Willis and let Othella play the back up 4. Othella was a much better defender than Charles. Malone destroyed and embarrassed Charles. That panicked trade effectively closed our championship window.

    During the first championship......
    Horry played the 3
    (Hakeem, OT, Horry)

Can wood only of the potential draftees can play the 3
    Or
Was Horry an athletic freak and unique specimen

Mobley could turn out to be the first stretch five ever

Uncle Cliffy was the true OG.

Horry actually reminded me a lot of him. A whole lot more clutch and fortunate literally but similar build and style with Robinson being the better overall scorer. Both 6’10 240 athletic rangey guys.

Tell that to Embiid, KAT, Myles Turner, Brook Lopez, Mehmet Okur, Brad Miller, Jack Sikma, etc.

The issue was when we played the Sonics they limited Dream with their zone and the other guys could never score enough to beat them especially in a 7 game series. The Barkley trade helped us beat the Sonics but it negated our advantage over the Jazz.

Laimbeer predates Horry as being that, or at least he tried with his 3pt attempts
