He didn't say give up assets to move Wall. I think you're implying he meant that... as that's probably the only way to move him, but it was someone's wish list.. so maybe he just wished they'd find a way to move Wall without giving up assets. They moved Russ and got assets back last year. As for the Wood idea... it's not horrible. It's entirely a timeline and health issue. Will the Rockets be good enough in the next few years to fit with Wood's timeline? Will Wood be healthy enough? To me it would come down to the pick and their thoughts on it. A scenario where the Rockets ended up with Suggs, KPJ and Cade, but without Wood is still a pretty great scenario.
pick 23 or 24 to OKC for picks 35 & 36? Select Trey Murphy with the Rockets second first and then pick up Bassey and Highland in round 2?
The lottery results will finally bring some closure, we may have to do this process one more time next year if we don’t hit on something.
Porzingas-Kemba-Wall-Simmons jamboree. DAL: Kemba PHI: Porzingas HOU: Simmons OKC: Wall Bucks 2021 24th Pick Wiz 2023 FRP (heavily protected) Porter - EGo - Cade - Wood - Simmons Bench: Olynyk, Tate, Khyri, Snipa, Augustin, KJ, 23rd pick, 6'10 Vrenz Bleijenbergh (SRP - House trade), 6'11 EJ Onu (UDFA), FA (Nwaba, Brown, etc.)
True, but there are several prospects I like. Those are just my preferred targets. How about Todd and Boston? Raiquan Gray and Scottie Lewis?
You haven't missed much. We have all been buying time until tonight's drawing. Then it gets interesting
Wall, Wood & House For Simmons & Harris Harris = Wood Simmons & Wall both flawed both better fits on their new team. House is usable fill for the 6ers and needs to be moved anyway for the youth to grow. Harris seems like everything one could want in a veteran & paired with Mobley would be like a Duncan/Robertson type situation. (That turned out nicely). Coach could run is “Dallas Offense”. With Simmons in the mix. Tate, Martin, Porter & Gordon plus the two picks. (Jaden Springer & a big) Definitely a different direction with talent, defense, length, depth & coaching.
#2 pick Eric Gordon #5 pick #8 pick Jonathan Isaac Would Orlando consider that? I realize Isaac is a SIGNIFICANTLY better asset than Gordon, but he doesn't stay healthy. Plus, I think it's agreed that there is a large drop-off from 4 to 5 in the draft.
I thought about trading with Orlando for both of their picks too but couldn't find a player on their team worth acquiring. Isaac has a ton of potential but dude appears to be fragile.
c wood e Gordon d house for a wiggins james Wiseman #7 pick add #23 or #24 pick to the package if necessary
The Rockets will not be trading Wood after his forceful move to Houston as a FA. It would be a terrible look for future Free Agents. Wood is going to be here for at least 1 more year, and hopefully, he balls out and it is longer.
I think more like this since Silas has a relationship with Porzingas. Houston - Porzingas Philly - Wall OKC - Simmons Dallas - Kemba Either way, Stone has to make moves this Summer if he picks JG. I can't see a Wall, JG, KPJ backcourt....Wall has to go
Why are people trying to trade Wood? Although he's 25, he has not played a lot of ball. His first 2yrs he barely got on the court and after that the majority was played overseas, so he does not have a lot of ware and tear. I think Wood can grow with this roster moving forward.
