All star is just a popularity contest, if the all star vote happened right now will he be an allstar given the beating he is taking in the media? Doubt it. So again past accomplishments dont really mean anything as we have seen with JWall.

There's a lot of Mays in your statement we cant prove it, its all speculation. Point is he sucks and is afraid to shoot RN, maybe he would be a superstar in houston with zero deadly shooters and playing with Jwall and Wood but we cant guarantee that. If Jordan landed in Houston and if Hakeem got drsfted by the Bulls would Hakeem be the goat with 8+ rings? Maybe but we cant prove that as well.

What is indisputable is Stone and Fertita made the right call taking the Nets offer as those picks+swap+KPJ is a lot better than brokeshot trio Maxey, Thybulle and Simmons+1-2 protected FRP. Anybody who still claims otherwise at this pt is just wrong, dumb or both.

I would take on Simmons contract if it came with picks at this point. I believe JL could rehab him...

How could JL possibly do that? Not only is Simmons terrified to shoot, his jumper is also just completely broken, so even if he was willing to take jump shots, they’d all be bricks.

y’all make Lucas out like he’s god in a suit and tie masquerading as an assistant coach…he’ll help KPJr, and then also fix Simmons

John Lucas is a former drug addict who understands players coming from rough backgrounds and can help them sort things out. He is not a trained psychologist nor a mental magician who can fix any twisted mind.

Simmons' problem is a different kind. Lucas cannot make mentally weak people suddenly become mentally tough. If he was that great, he would have fixed Ryan Anderson.

1 down. 2 or 3 more ‘elite’ years left. Those elite 2nd round exits will come and go in no time.

This TRADE BEN SIMMONS NOW talk is so, so, so, so, so, so, so stupid!!!!!!!!!!!

Sure, if you could trade him and get good value in return then great, but who the **** is going to want to trade multiple firsts or any considerable assets to bring back a player that Doc Rivers and the 76ers themselves don't believe can be a PG on a championship team.

These talking heads man...over here clamoring on about how Ben Simmons sucks, but HERE TAKE MY TRASH AND PAY ME FIRST ROUND PICKS!!!!! K

Ben Simmons is trash that you can't have on a championship roster though. Make no mistake about that. But you can't dump him.

lmao yea Kyrie and Harden both getting injured but losing to the Bucks in 7 is a real “failure.” And yea Simmons before this playoffs would have netted you higher picks than the garbage we got. Think about it for a second goofy. Do you think the dude who just got out of a similar deal made with the Celtics is sweating about those picks? No lol. It’s because the dude(Sean Marks) knows how to make a team.

We're two years away to be finally free from the current bloated contract of CP3 -> Russ -> Wall. Stay strong brothers. No more bad contracts please.

Some of these other teams are like girlfriends thinking they can 'change their man'. Then has the nerve to be surprised when they cannot reform. The husband is exactly the dude she knew before marrying.

Ben Simmons is a role player. Tired of the NBA tried to convince me otherwise. Dude is a defensive specialist making superstar money. Ya'll know the saying.... If it quacks like a duck... (and chokes in the playoff)...

Why do you hate John Lucas, he has done nothing to you. Why make Lucas suffer like that? :p:D

There are major gaps in your arguments. You said, verbatim, "with this (trade) we have a bunch of mediocre picks." I mean, the fact is that, after next year, there's a very good chance the Nets big three won't stick together. If you think you know exactly what picks the Harden trade will fetch, you should be making a killing in the stock market rather than posting here. Further, reports indicated that the 76ers refused to offer unprotected picks, so that also kills your argument.

Second, there's a massive flaw in your assumption about Simmons, namely, we would have had to flip him immediately, when his value was high, and who knows if there was a market for him. But, we probably would have given him a chance, and I believe the likelihood is high he would have crashed and burned here.

What’s a very good chance lmao? The only reason they didn’t win title was because of injuries. Will be the favorites again next year. Let’s say they win a title? Then what? And let’s say they decide to leave what’s the guarantee none of them decide to do a sign and trade? Then what? They literally just out of this situation and are a FA hot spot. It’s a bad gamble with a good organization. I wanted to use Simmons to get those picks. And we also don’t know what further compensation Morey would’ve had to get Harden, he didn’t get a chance. So no it doesn’t kill anything nice try though.

That would be the organization being stupid and not flipping him. there would have been plenty of people Looking to trade for him at that moment. So again, nice try

You can fix a busted shot. You cannot fix height or age/injuries.

If we can offload Wall and somehow get Simmons I'm down to clown.

It's not just his shot. It's in his head. He's Nick the Brick now. Every arena, every game.

i am all for trading wall for ben simmons. we can just let him play defense, run the break and continue to tank. i do believe he had too much pressure in philly and if he came here he wouldn't have that. i wouldn't include any picks though. We could try and rebuild his trade value and then ship him off later?

I feel good about the odds of fixing a 24-year-old's mental block.

I'm also fine just sitting tight and waiting.

If Simmons would be open to playing off the ball I might be open to it. The last thing I want is Porter Jr or *prayers to God* Cade having to play with Simmons

Yeah, I'm under no illusion that Simmons is a 1st order star in the making.

His ceiling is a 2nd option, but his best years are ahead of him and his contributions can be numerous/varied.

Funny thing about that is, Simmons being relegated to offball in the 2019 playoffs due to Butler is one of the main reasons for Sixers had to get ride of Butler. Simmons did not like someone else running the point instead of himself. Pretty ironic thinking about it now, because all he did this playoffs was stand and do nothing in the dunker spot.

I love how mad people are at fake trades proposed by basketball nerds who read fourms online (I myself am a basketball nerd). It's not like any of these decisions are going to be made right here.
