I could see a team like Miami signing Carlos to a huge deal. Makes me sad for the Astros but happy for him. Same with Springer. But I thought it was one or the other that had to go. Not both.
Toronto was closer to contending than Miami is. I don’t see Correa signing with a team that’s at least 3 years away. Would also be comical if the Astros were outbid by Miami, unless Miami is stupid with their money… and I don’t think their super smart GM would do that.
I hope Correa stays somehow but I think him with a baby on the way makes it even more about the money and I dont blame him.
He’s going to get paid. I don’t think the short term 1 or 3 year deals are going to be necessary (as some here speculated given his health history). I just expect him to favor contenders and not just anybody. Actually, having a baby on the way certainly makes it more about where they’re the most happy overall (with getting paid what he’s worth).
