The fun thing about the Astros is you can fill out the lineup card however you want and they will mostly hit. Mostly.
Stop the presses. Your hometown team is now #1 in MLB in run differential. #rundiff #worldseriesofrundiff #worldseriesbound #statchamps
I really hope the Astros go into the luxury tax and get a reliever for the playoffs. This is a WS caliber team.
I doubt the Stros go into the tax. Hopefully Verlander gets healthy enough for some relief innings in high leverage situations. I'm sure he wants to prove that he is healthy enough to get a decent offer in the offseason.
This series, I found out the Stros are #3 in home attendance better than the Dodgers, or Yankees. Braves and Rangers have new ballparks so they have better attendance than the Stros. Ready to put on my Crush City shirt.
In the past, many posters were clamoring for McCullers to be the that high leverage reliever. I am surprised that hasn't been being discussed here this season (unless I've missed it).
How so? Dodgers had 33 games with reduced capacity and sold out 28 of them. Their first full capacity game drew 52,000. Had California allowed higher capacity at the same time as Texas, no way the Astros would have higher attendance
Do you have some ideas on who would be available that would actually improve our BP more than what we have?
If Abraham Toro gets hot for Astros while playing third at major league level, he would be a great trade option being just 24. He was looking great in AAA, maybe it translate at the perfect time for that Astros. He is blocked with Bregman at 3rd. Unless you move Bregman to SS and Have Toro play 3rd next season.
