It takes a special kind of stupid to defend the actions of the insurrectionists on Jan 6. Total loss of reality and the consequences of trying to break into a federal building to stop the certification of the election and kill/harm the officials doing the certification.

i was responding to your statement where you said "She appears to not be climbing through the window but next to someone who has bashed through it."

the video i posted clearly shows she was climbing through the window and appears to be mostly through when the officer shot her.

I could argue the earth is flat if you paid me money. That doesn't mean I would have to believe it or would spend any time defending it on a BBS.

They should have calmly handcuffed him and escorted him through that very large peaceful group of patriots to a police station.

How dare you besmirch me, sir. I have NEVER defended the Capitol Riot. I have downplayed and excused it, sure, but NEVER defended.

Fair enough. That Capitol Police are governed by 2 USC 1961-1982. With respect to protection of members of Congress:
As there are no use of force provisions, it would be reasonable to apply the common law. If there is some other law or document that allows use of force outside of the normal common law restrictions, I would be happy to read it.
Yes. What I am asking for is for said investigation to be made public, as other investigations of use of force by law enforcement are. Why is this one investigation being kept secret? There may very well be some factor that is not known to the public that would make this a perfectly reasonable conclusion. What we have instead is just a statement that their internal investigation has found no wrongdoing. That is not allowed to fly out in the rest of the country. Why is it okay here? Why are the same people that protested to have the officers who killed Breonna Taylor arrested, even after the detailed investigation was released, not interested in the secrecy of this one particular investigation.
I have actually made reference to what happened before and after, so I don't think I am removing context. I talked about the other officers standing within a few feet of Babbitt with rifles in tactical gear. I don't think what other people did or were doing in other parts of the building that we cannot connect Babbitt to are relevant. We cannot know what the LEO knew or didn't know at that moment, because they won't tell us. We don't even know who the LEO is, let alone what information he had.
There were many reasons no members of Congress were harmed. Members in close proximity to the rioters like Hawley were not attacked, that is one reason. The rioters were minimally armed, mostly with flags and some chemical irritants, hardly the kind of firepower that would be successful in reaching and killing members of Congress inside the Capitol.
So this armed insurrection/terrorist attack was hell bent on murdering members of Congress and hanging Mike Pence on the Capitol stairs, but they can be deterred by shooting one female rioter? If 600 members of ISIS or al Qaeda were attacking the Capitol to kill the Vice President, do you think they would be stopped by shooting one of them? All of the rioters actions were consistent with an angry mob of crazies that wanted to go into the Senate chamber and yell at people. To me, they seem inconsistent with a terrorist attack aimed at assassinating the Democratic members of Congress and the Vice President.

NewRoxFan is right about one thing though, this argument has become repetitive, and therefor I think has run its course.

Again, repetitive and needlessly wordy. And again, you attempt to apply local law and requirements to a federal law enforcement case. And since you can't find the specific federal code you assume that local laws and requirements are in place.

However, the USCP have a very simple mission, to meet the safety and security needs of Congress including the Capitol and grounds.

Again, I believe that Congress has allowed the USCP leeway due to the unique nature of their mission... protecting the safety of Congress which seems to also involves national security. This answers your question "Why is this one investigation being kept secret?" Which again, seems reasonable since it is not like city and other local cases involving law enforcement... the USCP is not like local law enforcement.

You continue to diminish and defend the attack (both individual and as a group) on the Capital and the very core of our government. The one thing you are correct... your attempt to draw in terrorists like ISIS and al Qaeda... this was a armed terrorist attack on our government. It was not a bunch of angry people that simply wanted yell at people. It was a violent group of armed terrorists that wanted to overturn the election.

And I agree with you on the need for more info. Given what we know though I have no problem with that the LEO who shot Ashli Babbitt wasn't charged and had predicted months ago that no LEO would be charged.
Seriously? You don't believe that someone minimally armed couldn't kill a member of Congress, especially an elderly one, if given the chance? Hawley was not just sympathetic to them was rhetorically supporting their cause.
Actually killing Ashli Babbitt didn't stop them as we saw later that many had breached the Senate and Congressional offices. What it did do was slow down the assault on that door and very likely buying time to get members of Congress and others to safety.
    Fair enough.

josh hawley was not attacked because he aligned himself with the insurrectionists and supported not certifying bidens victory. he was doing exactly what all those trump terrorists wanted. thats why he wasnt attacked. he is one of them. these same people were running through the capitol shouting "hang mike pence" and "nancy, where are you". just goes to show that this was a politically motivated terrorist attack and even more reason to not disclose the officers name.
