There are so many prospects that I like in this draft. It has been so long since I had much interest given the Rockets pick situation prior to this season. I am hoping that they pick up a few second rounders as I think there is tremendous value there in this draft. I keep coming around to one guy though in that mid 20s range: Charles Bassey. I think that Bassey can develop into Capela with a jump shot. I think there is tremendous value in a guy who can block some shots and crash the boards who can also credibly space the floor. I think he is the type of player that is agile and fast enough to play in today's small ball high tempo NBA but he is also strong enough to hold his own with the big men that still make their living off of brute strength. I think the Rockets need a big with one of these picks (as insurance for Wood but also in the event Olynyk is not retained). If, as I suspect, Jackson, Jones and Garuba are gone I am selecting Bassey.

EJ ONU is 6'10 barefoot with 7'8 wingspan.

Both GSW and BOS are interested.

Yeah , his offense is really good, I like how he dunks everything around the paint .... he's a guy that can go get his without being spoon fed.

Nothing special defensively .... but isn't bad.

Lot of mocks have him 11-15 , I wonder if he gets passed #8. Honestly he looks like a more complete player "Right Now" than Mobley. Definitely a better shooter & rebounder.

I'd be cool with 35-37% from 3 .... anything else is gravy.

He's here more for his defense & overall well rounded game than just shooting.

I'm starting to consider taking a leap at Greg Brown with the 18th pick, if we drop out of the top 4 spots. High risk, high reward is what we need.
Kai Jones is better than him, but I'm not convinced that he can dribble the ball well enough. Physicality will also bother him, ditto with the intriguing Ziarie Williams.

Greg needs to get better too, but my gut feeling tells me he can become a better pro than Kai in 2 years. Hard work and a good attitude is what is needed for all these young players. @ApacheWarrior

I still like Bassey but would also excited if the Rockets could obtain some SRPs and use one on Onu. I am still skeptical given his level of competition. The G league is a tremendous leap on its own. He might be 2 years away from being 2 years away as the saying went with Caboclo. Regardless, this is precisely the type of bet rebuilding teams have to make. As for Bassey I think he is ready to go now and while he is not a unicorn type, with the 23rd or 24th pick in the draft I think he is good value as a guy that could be a contributor. I think he is every bit the athlete as any of the Maverick's centers when Silas coached there and his shooting is trending toward acceptable from outside.

I agree. If the Rockets do not get that top 4 pick then I would take mighty swings at Brown, BJ Boston and Ziaire Williams. Probably in reverse order.

I read yesterday that we're trying out Dalano Banton. Not a good shooter, but a good passer and capable defender.

That would be fine with me. A stint with the Vipers can help him out.

I like Mann on this team. I think KPJ would work best with a combo guard since he isnt a true point. And of course someone who can space the floor which Mann can. Might increase the chance of taking a flyer on Lewis too...

Im kinda in the same place today I was a month ago with picks 23 & 24

I want Trey Murphy III and one of Filip Petrusev or Neemias Queta

Murphy is already a great shooter and has the potential to be a very solid defender able to guard 1-5.

Queta is a rebounding defensive monster while Petrusev is a very advanced offensive player.

Buy me a 2nd round pick to use on Jay Huff.

I love Murphy & Queta. If you get Cunningham or Green 1st. If you wind up with Mobley, give me Murphy and Dosunmu

I like Murphy III. Who will be your choice with the 18th pick?

Love Murphy as a floor spacer. Would sub in Bassey as the big. I think he has more potential as a rebounder than Petrusev and better athleticism than Queta. But definitely think Murphy is in the conversation at 23/24. His time at Rice makes him almost local too.
