Detroit Style Pizza in Houstone! Good or bad?

Just read their About page. Why did Eugene Jett drop the second T from his name and original restaurant? For service mark reasons?

 

Jetts is pretty good, but not as good as Via 313.

I prefer Conan's over Via 313 in Austin but I like my sauce UNDER the cheese so take that for what it's worth.

 

what is “full-fledged” for Detroit pizza? Having some focaccia on the premises? LOL

At least that one has jalapeños!

 

Don't ask me. I hadn't heard of Detroit style pizza until this thread was created. And I certainly have never been to Katy, TX - but I do know it's close to H-Tine. And I do like jalapenos.

 

I've been to the one in Montrose. Solid.

 

That doesn't look very appealing to me. Like something i would make at home-lazily and sloppily pouring sauce all over it and dropping a few pepperonis. I like Margherita pizza, but i rarely eat it because i just settle for pizza hut stuffed crust...meh..it's all just pizza to me. I do like thin style with barely any crust if it's not stuffed crust. Is thin a style that belongs to a certain city?

 

Is Conan's still a thing in Austin?!?

That was my preferred pizza back in the campus days.

 

Detroit style where Americans from other states mistake it for Chernobyl more often than not pizza.

 

Conan's is dying....what is there like only 1 store left in South Austin?

Via313 is so overrated imo.

 

There is one location North side and one on the South side.

 

There is one left on the North side as well.

 

Nice, haven't had Conan's in 25 years, need to go for nostalgia purposes.
