Hold up, Green has shown Kobe or even MJ potential? This really needs to stop

I have seen the names Kobe and MJ associated with Jalen Green way too many times

I believe Mobley is a top 5 pick, not sure where he is in that order. Take a look at these highlights Gonzaga destroys Mobley and USC ignoring their interior defense. They jump out to a commanding lead !

I think Mike Conley would be a more accurate comparison

Why stop? Wouldn't you want to see a young guy give the greats of the game a run for their money? Even better, wouldn't you like to see a young Rockets player do it? I do think he will be just as good as Morant and Beal though.

y’all are putting ridiculous expectations on these guys, and when they fail to meet them, they will get crushed and ridiculed

MJ is literally the GOAT, and Kobe is like top 12 greatest all-time, but time and time again their names get brought up when discussing Jalen Green which is really unfair to him

if Jalen Green has truly shown MJ or Kobe potential, then there shouldn’t even be a discussion of who should be the #1 overall pick…it means Green is 1 of the greatest prospects that we’ve seen…that means as a prospect, he’s up there with Lebron and KD in the past 20 years

If Green strives to Kobe or MJ like but only reaches somewhere between Morant and Beal, then the pick will have been a success.
BTW, Kobe Bean was picked at thirteen.

Kobe was picked at 13, but we know what he ultimately became which was 1 of the greatest of all-time, so if u are bringing him up when talking about Jalen Green, then all-time great is what you’re referring to

Green can strive all he wants, but you are saying he has already shown MJ or Kobe potential…if he has, then he is 1 of the greatest prospects of the last 20 years easily

Every player that gets drafted has the potential to be great. Some more than others. The idea of comparing players is to sorta give you an idea of how a player can turn out.

Suggs might actually be better for KPJ development then Green.

Why would you say that? I actually think Suggs will take the starting PG position.
Now if he comes off the bench maybe. But only at picks 3/4 not at 1/2.
I'm fully expecting 18-22 pts, 8+ assts a game from KPJ this season. No need to interfere with that.

Suggs will allow KPJ to play his game and will feed him and give him plenty of looks.

Suggs can also be a combo guard and another key point is...night in and night out Suggs can really help KPJ with facing the currys dames and bookers by being a lockdown defender.

Suggs can really take the pressure off of KPJ in key moments down the stretch by being that calm under pressure presence.

I see green and KPJ as similar players but KPJ better playmaking ability.

But pairing KPJ with a true pass first floor general who can also shoot from deep and lock down defense can do wonders for KPJ who could still focus on his scoring and playmaking and allow him to play freely.

y’all throw around the names Kobe and MJ way too loosely…Jalen Green is basically a top 3 prospect of the last 20 years if he could possibly turn into MJ or Kobe, that’s what y’all are saying by continuously bringing those names up

I think it's really tough to compare players in general. You can see certain traits that may be similar or styles that remind you of someone, but what's between their ears and in their chest is what really separates the great ones. Lots of players have elite athletic ability, but it takes the brains, fortitude and the want to be great to harness that talent.

I once had a college coach tell me, "I have a stack of documents that tell me how a kid plays, but I get very little insight into them except maybe a dinner with their parents." Even with all of the interviews, tests and assessments, no one really knows how someone is going to react once they get to the big leagues, get the money, and then have to deal with all of the other stuff that goes into being a pro at 19-20.

Green is not an elite playmaker.

He is a scorer like Lavine and Beal.
