It’s crazy a couple years back we were looking for this kind of hitter like Yordan. We were actually pursuing Cruz, glad it turned out the way it did
Agreed. Some of us get so caught up in recent results, myself included, that we forget that success a third of the time up is a very good thing. The most imperative scope on Yordan is that HE is that talented. Nothing flukey about what we’re seeing but like any other player he’ll have slumps
he’s had some terrible at bats. But his last 30 game OPS is .844 and even his last 15 is .743. He hasn’t been YORDAN and he’s struck out far too often, but he hasn’t been terrible.
May 13 to today: .225 .311 .338 .649 I have no qualms calling that a terrible month. Hopefully he and Bregman heat up soon.
From what I understand, had the Astros not signed Brantley, they could have signed a comparable free agent.
He’s certainly had his downs the last month and there is no shame in calling it what it is and to my point he’ll have up and downs like any other star player.
