If I'm selecting a shooting guard in the top 3 I'm expecting a Wade type prospect. Obviously if you get a Booker or Mitchell at that spot you're happy. But there is a reason that both guys were picked at 13, they weren't can't miss. The Rockets need can't miss if they get a top 4 pick.
why? so you are saying don't get BPA? get by fit? so if you will pick Cade & Mobley over a Booker type player?
If we are talking #2 pick, I'm with team Jalen Green (I feel much greater upside) I would take Kuminga over Mobley as my choice to be SF going forward. (I feel greater upside there as well) It's going to be tough for Mobley to play center or PF night in and night out. One day guarding KAT....next day Embiid.....next Vucevic......next Valanciunas..... next game Jokic........next Nurkic........ then Capela.......then Gobert......then Julius Randall...then Zion (285 pounds)........Ayton........then back to Vucevic (schedule repeats).....then Myles Turner.......Mitchell Robinson........Thomas Bryant .......AD......Zubac.......Steven Adams.......throw in Drummond/Brook Lopez/Robin Lopez/Marc Gasol/Poeltl/BamBam/Aldridge Kanter/Dwight Howard/DeAndre Jordan/Whiteside/Robert Williams/ Mo Bamba/Hermangomez/ Rachaun Holmes/Favors/A Len.....throw in Gafford and soon to be NBA players Luka Garza, Hunter Dickinson, Queta, Kofi Cockburn, others. Greatest ability is availability.......good chance Mobley will be on IR list if forced to play C/PF vs the big boys. Just my opinion.
I have Green as my number two as well. After watching Mo Bamba, Johnathon Isaacs, and JJJr…. I just think it’s extremely hard for the rail thin guys to both stay healthy and be these defensive monsters they were drafted as.
i think he can… or will be able to eventually… almost as good as any center there is. Sure I’d rather have a prime Lebron to defend all five spots but the reality is that unicorn that can really defend all five spots doesn’t exist. Certainly he’ll be a plus defender. Will he be a Rudy level 3x DPOY? That’s obviously unlikely. And even if he is… would you take that over a potential Donovan Mitchell (if n this comparison Green)… I wouldn’t. Hence Green is ahead but just barely. I’ll regret typing this but Suggs projects as slightly more athletic Malcolm Brogdon to me… which is very very solid and could be a higher floor than Mobley but definitely not a higher ceiling.
I have a hard time seeing it….and it will take time for him to add what little muscle and weight he can to his frame. Mobley only has 10 pounds on Suggs. Johnathan Issacs is similar in frame and has proven he can be great defensively…. With the very limited time he is available. NBA is much more physical than NCAA.
What was the average weight of those 3,000+ guys you mentioned when they were drafted and/or when they were the same age? just sayin
Another good argument for drafting Green at 1/2 is team continuity. We have a good thing going with KPJ at PG. Drafting Cade would possibly change that. We also have a good thing going with Wood. Drafting Mobley gets people dreaming of trading Wood away. Drafting Green is the only choice that makes this team better, keeps them together and doesn't ruin continuity.
They are still present. Some gain weight like Kevin Garnett who went from 220 pounds to 240 pounds (but had Tom Gugliotta and Christian Laettner each at 240 pounds to help him transition into the league. How much weight has Nerlens Noel gained? Claxton? Christian Wood?
You make a good point. I’m assuming not much for Wood. Otherwise he would have been like 100lbs in college lol
If Cade is an option I think he would be perfect with kpj. They could PG minutes for several years. Also letting each other takes breaks when they are both on the floor. Who know that might be a dumb assessment in my part.
So torn on these guys! 1. Cade 2. Mobley/ Green 3. Green / Mobley 4. Suggs It really comes down to Green or Mobley, Suggs just seems repetitive as you can find guys like him around the league.
Prediction we win #2 and take green We package up 23 and 24 and move up to get Josh giddy We come away with giddy and green
