What are the astros in sweep opportunities this year? Like 1 for 98?

    Sweeps, like strikeouts, are fascist.

Winning 2 out of 3 or 3 out of 4 is more democratic.

A .666 winning percentage = 107 wins, what this team did in 2019.

Every good team, minus the 2019 Astros, has a weakness.

Sucks to not get the sweep, but ultimately it was another series win. The team performed extremely well through a major schedule gauntlet.

The only reason we don't have a comfortable division lead is because Oakland has performed far better against the dregs of the league. The next few weeks we have a chance to beat up on some bad teams. Let's hope we perform better than we have so far this season.

If Verlander was healthy, it wouldn't matter.

And, imo, the pen is the best weakness to have as it's the easiest to address.

Other than 4 home games against the White Sox, our stretch of games from now until July 4 is very friendly. We play the Twins, Rangers, White Sox, Orioles, Tigers, Orioles and Indians.

If my memory serves me correctly, the pen is one of the most inconsistent parts of any team year to year.

Easiest to address during the season, once you have an idea of which relievers have decided to be good that year.

I hope this doesn’t lead to complacency or false hope for our bullpen. We need to be all in for WS this year and next. We should add at least 2 quality relievers. Presley is an ideal set-up man, not closer. I would give up quite a lot for a closer. I don’t have a big problem with trading for a better CF either. This scenario is why we have consistently built up a farm full of high spin/ high velo pitchers. Verlander’s off the books next year, so is Correa and possibly Greinke. Framber, McCullers, Urquidy, GarcIa (?), Javier has the makings of a really good starting rotation. Giving up some young arms to go for it this year and next is well worth it.

    https://blogs.fangraphs.com/how-spray-angle-helped-create-the-seasons-shortest-home-run/

This past Tuesday’s slate of games provided us with a cluster of enjoyable home runs. Among them were Shohei Ohtani’s longest career home run (an estimated 470-foot blast); Ke’Bryan Hayes inadvertently missing first base and having his third bomb of the year overturned; and a fly ball off the bat of Carlos Correa that just (and I mean just) cleared the Green Monster.

Yep, The A's last six series?
    LAA
    SEA
    LAA
    SEA
    COL
    ARI

now KC then LAA again, NYY and then back to TX, then SF and then TX again. The back of their schedule is tougher but man they have faced the dregs no doubt.

Nothing scares me more than bad teams oh and movies about demonic possessions.
So I'm reversing the juju this post could bring. There are no bad teams only good teams. There are no bad teams only good teams. There are no bad teams only good teams.

The whole division is dregs except for the Astros and A's. Meaning everybody in our division is going to have long stints vs dregs teams.

Well here we come because we have a chance to reel some off. Most not division but more dregs. I'd expect 20 of the next 26, at least 18

    MIN - 3
    TX - 2
    WSOX - 4 (not dregs)
    BAL - 3
    DET - 4
    BAL - 3
    CLE - 4
    OAK - 3 (finally)

Cleveland is a whole 1.5 games behind us. (They're 6-5 against CWS and 2-0 against Cubs, 11-11 against >.500 teams)
