The Mavs are gonna also have to get a real system instead of high usage d’antoni/moreyball and combine Luka with another playmaker.

That style is good for inflating stats and winning MVP’s but it’s predictable to contain in the playoffs.

His disappearance on the defensive end is definitely due to the lack of touches on the offensive end. It's tough to find players to play with a heavy usage player and still be effective, but they are definitely out there.

Lol, Boogie still in the league?

Also, from the encounter a poster here had with Doncic at a supermarket, Doncic probably agreed to a jersey swap just to make George look stupid. He's a trickster, *******.

I can't tell if you guys are serious. Dude played 45 of 48 minutes, had a statline of 46/14/7 and his supporting cast is clearly inferior. All of this against the most talented team in the west and 2 of the better wing defenders in the game.

It's not that Luka needs to work on his conditioning. The Mavs just have to get him a legit second star and a better overall roster. Porzingis ain't it.

I agree a 2nd tier star will be hard, but I think Beal could be attainable when the Wiz decide not to re-commit to RW or RW decides to leave. KAT definitely makes sense.

The issue with getting McCollum is that it makes no sense for Portland to trade with Mavs until Dame leaves. Both teams are trying to win now, and neither has enough pieces. If both teams just had the wrong pieces it makes sense; but that isn't the case.

I didn't realize TM Jr was making $19 million, and they have a decent amount of cap room this off season.

Watching the entire game, Luka was gassed most of the 2nd half. He wasn't boxing out players, was hardly moving his legs on defense, and stopped trying to get to the rim.

He definitely needs to work on his conditioning. If it's one thing that he has proven, is that when he is fresh, even when the defense is fully focused in him, he still gets his pretty damn efficiently.

He kept dropping off on the 2nd half this whole series.

I agree, he needs a 2nd person, but he still needs to work on his conditioning.

at this point, KP’s just being paid to get some cardio in and hit a few jump shots

I really thought this dude would be a top 10 player in this league when he was in NY…too nimble for lumbering bigs, and too tall for everyone else…could shoot, block shots, run the floor…only weakness I saw was rebounding

now he’s just content to get paid and be big, tall, and soft

4th quarter shooting is wild since Kawhi exerts energy in defense too

Trading for Porzingis allows them to dangle Nurkic for another valuable piece. Personally rather have Nurkic than Porzingis, but both those teams will have to get creative. Portland has been running the same **** for years now and can't get anywheres. Dame is their guy and they don't have a ton of time left of his peak.

kawhi is one of the great playoff performers ever and basically didn't miss, but just like luka seems to be a horrible matchup for the clippers, kawhi is a horrible matchup for the mavs. they have no one even remotely close to being able to slow him down. both guys were just putting up video game numbers each of the last 2 years. if kawhi is that good with gobert in the middle then i don't know what to say.

That's because Leonard has incredible conditioning to be able to sustain that energy an entire game. It also helps that he doesn't have to guard the best player the entire game. However, Luka could not do **** against Leonard, he was abusing everybody else.

Mark Cuban does the opposite of Wesley Snipes. Sometimes he hits grand slam home runs: Nash, Nowitizki, Doncic. Sometimes he swings and misses: Lafrentz, Parsons, Porzingis, etc.

Same issue as Harden tbh. They need to get him a CP3 equivalent. Too bad they are handicapped by Porzingus contract

only dumb thing he did was try that fastbreak with 30 seconds left. you could see hardaway coming and you knew any contact would send george flying out of the air. 30 seconds left in a 13 point game in game 7, you shouldn't risk that injury. that's the exact kind of play lebron has always been so smart to avoid in his career and is part of why he doesn't get injured. too many players (like AD) extend themselves on plays they don't need to and fall awkwardly.

also, for once i agreed with a soft flagrant foul. even though george should have just dribbled, hardaway hitting someone like that in the air when they've already lost is the exact kind of play where guys get hurt and what they need to be strict on with flagrants. hitting guys in the face/head is way less dangerous than getting hit in mid-air.

Kawhi has that mid-range game to turn too. Even if Gobert takes away the easy paint points, he will still feast in the mid-range game. He is just as automatic as CP3. Remember when Gobert went against CP3 a few years ago in the playoffs, CP3 was practically hanging out in the mid range area and was scoring at will.

Owe ‘21 & ‘23 picks to NY (for My Little Pony himself) and he’s set to make $31,650,600, $33,833,400, $36,016,200(Player Option) the next 3 years but there are dumb teams out there so who knows.
