Luka is basically going through the same journey Harden did. Work on his conditioning because until their GM gets lucky he's gonna have to solo carry that team for 44 minutes a night. The key for them is a true second star. Harden got nowhere carrying a super role player squad and slightly washed stars like Dwight.

Kawhi put the clamps on him in the 2nd half.

It's all about the front office making some smart moves as they move forward. Hell, entertain bringing CJ McCollum over somehow. Would be a solid backcourt player with Luca (although terrible defensively). Get a solid guard off the bench, come get EG from us. Gordon has always had good run in the playoffs for the Rockets.

I don't know, need to make some bold moves though because they ran it back and fell apart again. They had a 2-0 series lead on the Clippers, were up 3-2 as well, until Kawhi tore them a new *******.

I think they really need to shift some pieces around. I'd definitely let Tim Hardaway go if I were them. Possible sign and trade candidate. I'm sure they can sell some team on Porzingis potential still. Have to be somewhere out there.

Definitely not advocating for them to find someone through the draft.

Don't count out the Jazz. It took being down 3-2 for Leonard to fully defend Luka. Clips will probably go back trying to get by with multiple guys on Mitchell. Also, while he is no where near Luka's playmaking; the Jazz have way more creators and consistent shot makers than the Dallas. Clips were sunk in games 1-2 when others made their shots. That will be the Jazz next game.

The keys to that series will be:
    1. Will Conley be healthy, because he has like a poor-man's CP3 effect on that Jazz team in crunch time.
    2. Will Gobert play big or shrink? Boban really affect the Clips ability to get into the paint and score efficiently, and Gobert is much better defender than him. However, he sometimes doesn't show up in big games.

Maybe not to score, but he had a decent overall game. Didn't notice him choking with airballs, turnovers or poor defense.

He’s been out of the rotation I think since mid series

luka with a little stat-padding there in the last 3 minutes. glad he didn't take nique's record with a bunch of uncontested shots.

what if the clippers end up winning it all after last year and then losing the first 2 games here. no one in the west is obviously better and if harden is hurt, neither is anyone in the east.

Seriously doubt Mavs can get a 2nd top tier star ... But if they can get a few 3rd tier stars like KAT and Mccollum they'll be positioned to run the West ...

Sigh we don't get our the first year without a pacific coast team in the 2nd round since 94 or a California team since 05.

Maybe it is because I saw us manhandle the Jazz a few times in the playoffs and I personally feel they been very fortunate this season having a fully healthy squad, besides the last few weeks of the season they played without Mitchell. I just don't see it. They definitely do have the Conley factor, but don't feel they are that good. If they play physical against Gobert, he will disappear as well. He is such a softie. It's not as if the Clippers rely on getting to the paint all the time, with Leonard being incredibly good in the midrange. They also don't have anyone to defend Leonard besides O'Neal whose only an okay defender.

i wanna say last year he led the league in uncontested rebounds. he gets a ton of defensive rebounds when no one on the offense is challenging. granted, a lot of wings and guards have inflated rebounds these days. arguably the biggest change in stats from back in the day because there are no PF/C's to dominate the glass and offenses almost always get back instead of crashing the boards so guards and wings have tons of available chances.

    Seriously.

Every Clipper who played more than 15 minutes shot over 50% from the field except PG (5-15) and Reggie Jacksons (4-10) and at least reggie shot 3-8 from 3.

It definitely killed them today. He needs to do much better on that end. Boxing out should be something you can do even if you are damn tired.

Luka did do the right thing to not swap jersey in a game 7 loss. The optics would just be terrible.

porzingis doesn't even look like he wants to be out there. some combination of the injuries slowing him down and the ball basically always being in luka's hands and him just being a role player seem like they have zapped his interest. sometimes he seems to rush 3's because he just wants to get a shot up and basically every 2 pointer he takes just seems like a lost possession because he's usually off balance and not that good at them. and he doesn't really seem to have a defensive impact these days.
