So LADs championship has 2 asterisks, one for shortened COVID season and one for their doctored baseball. That’s all I’m seeing.

It won't be. MLB wants the pitchers to stop it, so they'll suspend a few guys and put the rest on notice.

i wonder where the astros rank in terms of cheating (if anyone cared about reality). We know they're behind teams like the sox, yanks, dodgers but who else?

you've been curious? It's not like we know 100% of what happened, who did the most tech sign stealing? who did other stuff?

It being widespread is what will mitigate the blowback... but it has had an enormous impact on offense. Guys are falling out of bed throwing almost 100mph with sink now. Arms didn’t somehow evolve within the last 3 years for this to be the norm.

Just like PED’s led to inflated HR numbers across the board, this is doing the same for pitching. The fact that they can now track it with spin rate (vs. the eyeball test) is really all the evidence they should need.

Yet you "know they're behind other teams"?

It's not about accusing others, it's about pointing out how other teams cheat also and people barely bat an eye. Redsox cheated and won (also brought back their coach) and their is silence. Yankees cheated, potentially Arizona and now lakers yet all anyone talks about is houston. We are not saying astros are not deserving but the other teams are equally deserving

Isn’t that literally what Beltran said on arrival?

Very true, he and Cora put it in action, but knowing vs doing are 2 different things.

Chances are they leap-frogged other teams in the process because that’s what that nerd cave was good at (in addition to being early to the “spin rate” game).

But at the time, the implication was very much that the Astros were behind other teams when it came to sign stealing... now which teams those were, and what exactly they were doing, remain to be known. But it isn’t a far stretch to look at the previous employer of the player making such claims...

What wont happen is these teams losing 1st, 2nd rd draft choices for two years.

This was another of Manfred's way to try to let other teams catch up to the Stros talent wise in addition to making Crane fire Luhnow. The Media also got there pound of flesh. Drellich/Footer/Passan etc... can kick rocks.

Actually there's the same evidence the Dodgers cheated like the Astros...

A current employee of the Dodgers went on the record and shared with tom verducci details of their camera system... this was in 2018 season, the same year the brewers and mets publicly accused them...

Also, a current employee holds more weight than an ex-employee with an axe to grind....

What did Footer do other than rightfully criticized Osuna and the decision to pick him up? Olney deserves more hate.

I dont think it was wrong to pick Osuna up.

If you want to beat the Yankees/Cubs/Dodgers etc... you gotta play by their rules.

I bet Luhnow would do it again. He's all about giving his team it's best chance to win. Osuna paid for what he did wrong and was providing for his child. Simply put he made a mistake.

Dont try to compare what Osuna did in a fit of rage to what the Texans pervert did. These are two totally different situations. I do believe in second chances but not giving them to predators. They will prey again. Osuna most likely will never do what he did again.
