When we predicted the Repuga would try to hqng everything round Fquci's neck, little did we know just how f***ing low their stupidity would sink them.
China and Biden? They aren't really tied together any more so than Trump and China and possibly less. https://www.forbes.com/sites/danale...mysterious-trump-tower-lease/?sh=2a6f8b80ed11 https://www.brookings.edu/policy202...nefit-american-workers-and-national-security/ https://www.forbes.com/sites/tommyb...hina-after-trump-was-elected/?sh=5ad1a2b31d60 https://www.newyorker.com/news/our-columnists/donald-trumps-debt-to-china https://www.reuters.com/article/us-...-help-china-telecom-company-zte-idUSKCN1IF201 What are the ties that bind Biden and China?
Without getting off subject, I dont think biden has been extra motivated to press china on the virus origin.
I don’t think anyone with half a brain would hang it on China without evidence. A competent president who has to work with other super powers on many issues should always be motivated by facts first imo... but what do I know as someone who foolishly decided not to vote for the supreme leader who is said to be reinstalled in August.
Like Trump did? Yea, I don't remember that either. No one is going to get China to do anything, they are an up and coming superpower with an inferiority complex and short of war or very well executed espionage you're not getting any evidence.
I understand your position. I just think dismissing and censoring any consideration of a lab leak was not based on facts on either.
Let's not forget Trump even in March of 2020 was still complementing the job that Xi Jinping was doing on the virus. A lot of people mistake Trump's inflammatory rhetoric with him actually doing something. I don't recall Trump seriously looking into the origins of the virus. Biden has actually asked intelligence and other agencies to look into it.
It wasn’t given what was known at the time and the need to reserve mask supplies for hospitals. General wisdom before February of last year was that wearing masks does not help to control spread of airborne infections and can actually be counter-productive. Once it was understood that most of the spread occurs asymptomatically then encouraging everyone to wear clean masks in public, preferably multi-layer, with other social distancing guidelines was the responsible thing to do.
What do you think has put more heat on China: -Trump going on and on at rallies about the "Wuhan Flu", and spouting racist garbage or -Biden administration conducting a credible investigation, and showing a cautious approach. However releasing the facts when they do conduct that investigation in a way that either finds evidence of a leak that shows incompetence and negligence, or finds evidence that it did not come from the lab but came from the wet market which shows dangerous health negligence, and pushes the world to impose stricter food safety standards in Asia????
His going on about the origin of the virus was just a way to shift the focus away from his lack of a plan to combat the "fake" - "ordinary flu" - "China is doing great" - "kungFlu!!"............. Coronavirus.
General wisdom? General wisdom would say otherwise. Early signs were pointing to respiratory illness if anyone had been following what was happening in Wuhan. As a scientist, he should not have made that declaration unless he was sure masks would be harmful. If he didn't have data to support it, he should have kept quiet about it. He made a bold statement and turns out he was flat out wrong. And if the intention was to save the masks for health care workers, say so, instead of being dishonest. He bungled it up. Had he not done that, it would have set a different tone regarding mask and who knows how many people would still be living today who otherwise have died.
Masks weren't considered effective for people who aren't ill to reduce chance of getting infected. The primary purpose of masks is to prevent infected people from spreading the infection, and once it became clear that people that are asymptomatic can spread it the argument for wearing masks became stronger.
but highly effective for health care workders / front liners who aren't ill to reduce chance of getting infected???
